This route was planned by komoot.
Very nice circular hike with a wonderful view. Even the approach via the narrow mountain roads is interesting. The ascents are tough and require good surefootedness. You will always be rewarded with magnificent vantage points of the Lago. Make sure you have enough drinks on sunny days.
The tour begins in an exciting way when you arrive: 7 km of narrow and winding roads lead up to the car park. The path leads through the small mountain village of the same length and steeply up to Monte la Crocetta at 1117m. The path leads through shady forests, of course you still sweat because of the ascent. A hill further is a starting point for paragliders. Very impressive to see the large umbrellas flying towards Lago Maggiore. The path after the hairpin bend (waypoint 3) is officially closed and will not be repaired in the foreseeable future. Due to our planning, we are going this way anyway. The first 100 m is a bit of climbing under fallen trees, after that the path can be walked easily and well. It is a grandiose ridge path that leads west over several peaks. Although it is a ridge path, you rarely have a view because the trees on the left and right have grown quite high. The view of Lake Maggiore and adjacent lakes is fantastic when you have it. The descent from the last peak is almost a climb, very steep and strenuous. In the village back there is a small restaurant "Sabine". Here they cook very tasty, if you are back from the hike in time. All in all, an extremely beautiful hike, which is sufficiently strenuous with the 9 km and constant ups and downs. --- Recommendations: "Hiking in the Harz - With 222 stamps to the hiking emperor". https://amzn.to/3VO8smK https://harz.soziales4u.de Crossing the Alps: 800 kilometers from Trieste to Oberstdorf: https://amzn.to/3GbVIjh https://soziales4u.de/viaalpina Hiking with children in the Harz: The Harzer Hexenstieg. 100 kilometers between fresh air and iPad. Finally heat and sun as it should be (until ever), a little too much vegetation, but we did it again. At the refuge, lunch is a guarantee, as are the views along the entire route. Special mention for the Alpine Colony managed by the CAI of Besozzo (of which we are part), with 44 children present. Little pioneers.
