Rossbrand Panoramatour – Auf den Spuren des Stoneman Taurista

The original route up to Rossbrand is a really steep uphill with roots and rocks. Not rideable. We pushed and that wasn't fun either. Alternatively, you can do the tour the other way round or up the forest road.

I hate to advertise here, but the waterproof Sealskinz socks I ordered two days ago kept my feet dry for three days... with a perfectly acceptable odor nuisance 👍

Wow, we still managed 5,000 meters of elevation gain over about 180 km. Today, Rossbrand was the final stop. I dropped three e-bikers again, who needed to recover on the summit after the last 200 meters of pushbiking. The return trip was very wet. I had to push parts of the beautiful single trail to Mandlberg. The stones and overhanging roots were too slippery. Finally, I rode along the Enns cycle path again, where the Garmin freaked out because of the wetness. Overall, in my opinion, the Taurista isn't the number one Stoneman. There are too many forest roads that you have to share with cars and trucks. The highlights: Penkkopf single trail, Johannesfall, Taurachtal valley, and Mandlberg downhill.

Done - the tour and me too this time😉 But no matter - I have my stone. I can now take it and hit myself on the forehead with it... All that hard work for a stone🙄😉 I can't imagine anyone doing it in one day🤔

Day 2 also done. 😜 Today we only went up one mountain, and that was Rossbrand. One of the most beautiful mountains in the area with a view. And it's also Radstadt's local mountain. Today it was just a coffee ride, 🙃😅 where the pushing section (about 1km) was quite steep! So it's a case of pushing or carrying. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I decided on the latter. The descent was fun as always. I particularly liked the trail down to Mandlberg. Beautiful trail.

Be sure to ride the route counterclockwise. Then the steep, rooty section is downhill.

Last stage of the Stoneman up to Rossbrand. Fantastic 360 degree views from up there. All the effort was worth it. Once again, we had to push our bikes on the way up. But we were also able to ride steep climbs. It was great fun and @BAXXTER was a great team partner 👍

Day two at the Stoneman, today we tackled the smaller circuit. Small in length, but peppered with finer details. A lot of fun.
