This route was planned by komoot.
On the second ascent in the cobblestone curves, you can overlook it, because otherwise the tour is so great
Better to drive clockwise... then you have Vrsic cobblestones in the driveway
Great three-country day tour Austria, Italy, Slovenia 😀Unfortunately the weather didn't play along, but in the end you are completely satisfied 🤗
Classic tour! Reminds me a bit of a tour in France in the Chablaisse region: From the Col de Bassachaux, you can see Lac des Plagnes, which I also visited afterwards. It was the same with the Mangrt: From above, I saw the Weissenfels Lakes (Laghi di Fusine) in Italy, which I also visited afterwards. From the front: The climb up to the Predel was beautiful and relatively quiet. At the turnoff to the Mangrt, there was a barrier, and it said that the pass was closed. The motorcyclists couldn't get through, but the cyclists could, and lots of them! Up above, the road was full of rubble because no one had (yet) cleared the winter's rockfall. But the toll booth barrier was repaired today, so it probably won't be long before my motorcyclists can go up again. I enjoy the peace and quiet and get a little scared in the five tunnels – luckily, I have a light with me. I'm quite cold up there, but the view is absolutely breathtaking! The descent into Italy is fun, and as soon as I arrive in the first town, I find the village fountain to refill my water supplies and warm myself in the sun. The route continues on the superbly developed Alpe-Adria Cycle Path, with the aforementioned detour to the Weissenfels Lakes. I almost missed the border crossing into Slovenia, it was so inconspicuous. Now, 50 more hairpin bends over the Vršič Pass and through the Soča Valley back to Bovec. The 24 hairpin bends uphill were almost all paved, but downhill they were freshly paved. And since it was already late afternoon, there wasn't much going on: Everything was done right, a great tour, definitely do it!👍
