Trail Reviews

Rusty (Uwe + Sabine)
November 3, 2022, DonauWelle Eichfelsen-Panorama ab Beuron Bhf 🍂🍁

Today we hiked the Donauwelle "Eichfelsen-Panorama". That was the only one we haven't done yet. However, the paths were known to us from other tours except for a short distance. The weather was a bit cloudy, the sun 🌞 didn't really want to shine, but it wasn't raining either. You can tell it's vacation time. There were more hikers than we would have expected during the week. All "Donauwellen" are recommended, including this one. If you only do one, we recommend the prominent "Donaufelsen-Tour". 🥰👌 🍀🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️🐶

Patrick invited people to the Komootler Donauwellen hike. Of course we're going to be there😉The tour was as usual by Patrick😜 Again very well organized, thank you for that🤗 Great hiking trails with a great group👍beautiful views and great weather👍 The obligatory refreshment stops were not neglected either, an all-round perfect day👍 I'll leave my tour in for about a week so that the hikers can take some photos😉

First of all, a big thank you to the Komoot hiking group, including Uwe (Rusty) and other participants who hiked this tour last weekend! I stole this route 📈📈📈 from you! I parked my car at the entrance to Beuron. Small parking lot for a ✋ full 🚙🚗🚙🛻🚗. Instead of going over the historic wooden bridge down by the monastery, which is unfortunately still closed, I went over the intersection. (Just a few meters further) First highlight: The Beuron monastery ⛪ from above. From the beginning, the climb was very steep. Sometimes shady, sometimes sunny. The split rock with a magnificent view of the Danube valley made up for the initial exertion. This was followed by the hiking lodge / Rauher Stein and the Eichfelsen, always with a great view 🏞️ of the Danube and the sea of rocks. In Wildenstein Castle, there was a cold wheat beer 🍺 and a piece of blueberry cake 🍰 just in time for lunch.

Good evening 🖐! If you have the "Swabian Grand Canyon" 🏞 almost on your doorstep, you should pay it a visit. So the three of us drove via Balingen and the Lochen to Beuron. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by mighty rock walls. It was clear to us that "we did everything right again today"👍! The start and finish was at the car park by the monastery. We continued via 📍Wooden bridge 📍Garbage dump path 📍Irndorf 📍Railway post 📍Wildenstein Castle (🍺🧀🥪🍅🥕) 📍Petershausen 📍Beuron Monastery During the entire hike, we always had a view of the Danube winding through the valley🙂. Except for a few meters in the car park, there was no asphalt, only forest and meadow paths👍. It was simply a beautiful hike 🥰 🙋‍♀️🙋🐾

Wow, what a beautiful, varied, and scenic tour! Beuron Monastery - Spaltfelsen - Rauher Stein - Eichfelsen - Felsengarten - Danube - Wildenstein Castle - Beuron Monastery. I started at the wooden bridge in Beuron when the temperature was still pleasant. The climb to the Eichfelsen viewpoint was easy. Shady forests and root-covered forest paths led me to a fantastic view – at the foot of the rock – of the Danube. My destination was Wildenstein Castle, which was practically opposite on the mountain. As so often, I first descended and then climbed narrow, steep paths to the castle. There I was rewarded with a phenomenal view! After a short rest, my path led me back down to the valley to Beuron Monastery. The Eichfelsen Panorama premium trail is highly recommended! 😊☀️🥾

My first Donauwelle👍The circular hiking trail has everything you need. Beautiful paths, mighty rocks, caves... it had everything! Unfortunately, it was very foggy so you couldn't see much of the panorama.

Used the long weekend again to take part in a group hike about 200km from home. And I have to say it was really worth it... In the beautiful Danube valley, the Eichfelsen panorama tour of the Donauwellen Premium hiking trails was on the agenda today. Even though I felt like I climbed Mount Everest twice (although I'm slowly but surely getting used to the altitude), it was a great feeling to look down into the valley from above 😍😍 I can really recommend this tour to everyone.

A really beautiful and varied tour, but unfortunately there are few opportunities to enjoy the view of the Danube valley in summer. But we have firmly resolved to do the tour again in autumn or winter, when the trees have no more leaves.
