Pfannwald Plus - natural kicks between lake and silence

On this loop, you can clear your head and rack up some trail kilometers at the same time. The starting point is the parking lot directly at Pfannwaldsee, which is often as smooth as glass in the morning and provides inner peace at first glance. From here, the route begins with a varied route with moderate climbs.

The first highlight is the narrow hollow path section: short but atmospheric, with clayey walls and root-filled soil. The trail then leads you into a quiet forest area, past the Galgenhohle (Gallows Cave), a geological feature with a rather dark history behind its name.

If you'd like to add a little detour, follow the narrow trail to the right at kilometer 5.3 to the observatory. Back at Pfannwaldsee, you can end your loop in a relaxed manner—perhaps even with a quick foot bath in the clear water.
