Sufficient parking space in both Hever and Eppegem. Not an ideal train connection during the weekend, long journey. When we did this train step, the train from Muizen to Eppegem was not running. We then went to Eppegem on foot. A walk is also possible from Muizen, the station is less than 10 minutes from the track. It may also be possible to split up and depart or arrive in Mechelen twice. Mechelsbroek is very muddy when it rains, but we have been here before and it is not really dry. The walk is largely on the GR12, so it may be slightly less interesting if you have already done that walk.
In reality it was 17km, Strava apparently did not record the first kilometers.. Unfortunately largely (+-75%) paved, so that was a bit disappointing, but the part in the Wormelaar nature reserve was worth it again.
