Dream Loop Schanzerkopf

Hiking

Long forest passages, a sweeping view from the Schanzerkopf, and the idyllic Waldsee await you outside of Argenthal. The hike begins right at the natural swimming lake, where two large wooden figures welcome you. Along winding forest paths, you hike up to the Argenthal quarry, where the Geo-Adventure Trail runs. You can take a short break at the Köhlerhütte (coal burner's hut), before continuing over the Ochsenbaumer Höhe to the Schanzerkopf.

At the highest point, a wonderful view of the Hunsrück awaits you. From the 643-meter-high summit, the dream loop takes you down into the Kloppwiese nature reserve near Ellern. Along the edge of the forest, you hike back to the Waldsee (forest lake) with views of Argenthal – a dip in the clear water rounds off this beautiful hike.

Waldsee Argenthal

Highlight • Lake

The forest lake in Argenthal offers not only a good restaurant but also a campsite. Old dewatering structures can be seen around the lake, the function of which is no longer clear.

Here, two dwarves greet you at the entrance to the Schanzerkopf Dream Loop. An overview map provides information about the hike and the surrounding area.

A misty, muddy December morning. What more do you need.
A great tour, when there is snow, the longer, rather boring sections are also nice. The paths in the forest are great and fun ... Today had something mystical. A rather leisurely tour, not so strenuous.
The supply station at the Koehlerhütte was great.

Accompanied by @Lea, we started the Schanzerkopf dream loop from Argenthaler Waldsee. Since I'm a big fan of the Soonwald, I also really like this dream loop. However, with @Sonne or even more foliage on the trees, it is much prettier than today, but it was still a very nice tour.🌲🌳🥾🙃

A tour by Tilo made me curious and I started in the Hunsrück today.
Phew, I haven't seen that before. Root Path followed Root Path, superseded by Root Path.
A nice tour through a lot of forest, so nice and shady.

On the road with the Netwalkers led by Heinrich.
So I think I'll get to know a new dream loop, arrive at the parking lot and know: I was there in October 2022 🤣.
We were a good, brisk group today! Without rain!
And finally, before the fantastic meal at the Italian restaurant, there was a swimming session in the …

🥾Traumschleife Schanzerkopf Tour.

Flowy round with moderate gradients.
The highlights of the tour are manageable, but the hay bale table at the Schanzerkopf was unbeatably comfortable for a long break and a short rest ☺️

After the change of direction made the Heimat-Traumschleife an even more beautiful tour for me, I tested it here on the Schanzerkopf Traumschleife. So you start the round with the part that I find the least attractive (with a meadow, of course 😉) and then you only have forest paths at the end.☀️🌳🤩 Of course it's a matter of taste, …

Very beautiful and varied hiking trail. 😊👋

Today we walked the Schanzerkopf dream loop under blue skies and sunshine (2 degrees). We started the tour at the Thiergartenstrasse junction from the L 242 at the end of Argenthal towards Dörrenbach - right on the route.
It was a wonderful tour. Alternately through mixed forest, but mostly through coniferous forest on springy forest floor. Short stretches were forest …
