Hiking
This hike will transport you to a lush jungle world – almost like something out of Jurassic Park. But don't worry, you won't encounter any dinosaurs. Instead, you'll find a stunning landscape with impressive waterfalls. Plan a full day for the tour and pack plenty of provisions.
The starting point is the village of Wulai, south of Taipei. Right at the beginning, you'll face a steep climb up numerous steps. Once you reach the ridge, follow a narrow path through the densely forested slopes. After crossing the ridge, you'll hike down into the green Xinxian Recreation Area, where the Neidong Waterfalls await you at the valley floor – a great place to take a breather and enjoy the scenery. The lush flora and fauna in the valley will help you simply switch off.
You'll head back towards Wulai along the Nanshi River. Along the way, you'll pass the impressive Wulai Waterfall. Back in the village, you can relax with a soak in one of the hot springs.
There is a small entrance fee to enter the Neidong Waterfall Forest Recreation Area.
