Electricity is still generated today in the beautiful historic Dettinger Wasserschlössle. Access is not permitted; all you can hear is the running noise of the generator.

Beautiful view from the rock in front of the Reußenstein on the Neidling valley and the castle. This is partly closed due to the risk of falling rocks.

October 26, 2024, 🇩🇪241026 Rundtour Alb🏞️: Lauter-Reussenstein-Lindach-Radweg

When we started in Denkendorf at 11am, there was already plenty of sun and around 12°-14°. We went along the Lauter to Kirchheim, Dettingen, Owen and up to the Alb to Reussenstein. Up there, the fog hadn't really cleared yet and a cool wind was blowing - it felt like it was only 7° or so. So we quickly headed back to the valley, down and along the Lindach back to Kirchheim and back to Denkendorf. All in all, a lovely round trip, but next time it will be 20°, up on the Alb!

From the P&R, the path leads up the Oberlenninger Steige via the Lenninger Tal. The path is asphalted, leads through the forest and is closed to traffic. The Alb can be seen in all its beauty at the top of the Alb plateau. On dirt roads it goes past fields, meadows but also sections of forest. Passing the train stations and the ruins of Reussenstein, it goes back to the car park via Neidlingen and Kirchheim. A nice round through beautiful landscape.

It was a very nice tour today with Moni and the Lenninger Steige is very pleasant to cycle up 😊 I also really liked the plateau behind Schopfloch - just a great day today 🤗 I have my doubts about the HM - I don't think there were that many...

It was a really great tour and not as much as yesterday on the Neckartal cycle path, which we prefer much more.

Very nice circular tour from Kirchheim/Teck. The start was a bit confusing, it's probably better to drive from the train station along the Lauter towards Owen, perhaps following the cycle path signs. The Oberlenninger Steige is asphalted and great to ride, but I probably wouldn't have done it without an e-bike ;-)

A beautiful tour from Köngen, a short stretch along the Neckar Cycle Path towards the Swabian Alb. After a long climb at Schopfloch, a lovely stop at the Harpprechthaus for good food. The return journey is mostly downhill via Kirchheim back to the castle in Köngen. A bike ride full of nature and views, and with friends.

It's like little kids. You always have to have a goal with them. I had lunch at the Harprechthaus in mind today. That made it possible to cycle in the heat. Without ⚡ it's really torture. I'm not used to it anymore 🫣. Unfortunately, it saved the tour too early at the last stop. That's why the last kilometers are missing 😭. But there were no more meters of altitude anyway 🙄

Why duck tour? Look at the route and it will become obvious ;-). My tour today took me over the Hahnweide into the Lenninger valley, always along the Lauter. Above the Lenninger Steige I went over Krebsstein to Schopfloch. Past the Harprechtshaus I continued to the Bahnhöfle and shortly after there was a beautiful view of the Reußenstein ruins and the Heimenstein. The old Steige to Neidlingen offers beautiful views of the Limburg. I passed that too and made a quick visit to the Murmelmühle. It is only open on Sundays and costs €3 to enter. Then through Weilheim to Schlierbach and finally back home.
