Yes, finally a week's vacation on my old home island. The hike to the Königsstuhl leads through a wonderful natural landscape and is rewarded with a great view of the steep chalk cliffs and the Baltic Sea.
We're on the island of Rügen from Friday to Monday. We drove from Binz to Hagen, where the large parking lot is located near the chalk cliffs. We hiked up and down through beautiful beech forests, unfortunately not yet leafy, to the chalk fields. As the cliffs, with their chalky rock, have increasingly collapsed over the years and plunged into the sea, the viewpoint was in danger. Therefore, a skywalk was built, which was inaugurated in April 2023. See also https://www.koenigsstuhl.com.
Beautiful nature, a relaxing path and it's really worth it because the view is truly breathtaking. In the buildings, you can visit a museum exhibition and watch a movie. For the little ones, there is a large playground and several stations with knowledge tasks to discover.
