Dynes Ravine View of Åstol

Highlight • Gorge

You can walk through the dramatic rocky gorge, passing through the narrow passage between the cliffs. At the bottom of the ravine there is a wooden deck with tables and benches, and a fantastic view over the island of Åstol.

Look out for wild mouflon sheep and some of the many rare plants that grow here.

You'll first spot the little beach from high up above the bay. Its turquoise water and strip of bright sand seem to be straight from a postcard.

Once you reach the beach it will be hard to resist heading into the sea for a swim!

Highlight • Viewpoint

Great vantage point over the busy harbour from the calm of the the footpath. The northern port is the larger of the two ports on the island, and boasts a restaurant, shop and café.

One of the most beautiful trips on Orust and Tjörn. Even if the hike is short, be sure to plan a whole day. Unfortunately the altitude information is not correct, there is a lot of up and down, but overall it is not difficult. We really hiked a lot in Sweden. Over 100km. The Dyröleden was without a doubt the BEST. 6 km around the island. Challenging.

We are absolutely thrilled with this hike around Stora Dyrön, the archipelago experience at its finest. The panoramic view from the highest point on the island is also amazing.
We took the boat line from Rönnäng to the island, but you could also take the line from Rökan in the south (but it doesn't run often).
