I always love going here! A very beautiful path with a view of the valley and the cute goats that sometimes accompany you on a walk. A few even let themselves be petted today.

Trail Reviews

themachine (Nobby)☮️🤝
May 6, 2022, Ziegen hüten oder "Wo der Bock zum Gärtner wird" 😂👍

After I "stole" this tour several times from @Marina ☀️ and @Yvonn❤ (thank you for the pre-hike 😉) today after work I continued to the starting point at Gut Roggenthal and finally put on my hiking boots to do the round to run 😄. What can I say, a really wonderful hike through forest and meadows with wonderful views and great paths, but also some pretty decent climbs and descents🥵😄. But the hit was undoubtedly the goats, which after a moment's hesitation trotted faithfully after me 😂😂😂. Felt like the goat Peter 🤣🤣. They were really great.

The urge to move drove us outside in the drizzle in the morning. Suri and I had to work through an electric fence trauma during this round. You have to go through some gates, the last time the Suri dog hit the fence with his tail. That was not good. Went without any problems today, but it took a liverwurst bribe to get her through the hinged gates, which were far too narrow for a retriever. The weather was a bit damp in the morning, but with the constant climbs of this loop you warm up quickly. 🐐 are all in the stable, a few 🐑🐑 are still defying wind & weather. The round where the goat becomes a gardener is always nice, the weather doesn't really matter 😍

This route always works. The climbs are demanding, but the paths are good, varied and well signposted. The prospects reward the efforts for the climb. There are also enough benches along the route and we also found the title heroes. - When the goat becomes a gardener.

Since I was free today, the lap was a bit longer for my standards. A really nice scenic round in the direction of Jakobsberg along the pilgrimage route and along the beautiful nutrient-poor grassland around Dallhausen, where goats usually graze in summer. Today Suri was there and unfortunately she made acquaintance with an electric fence. The poor animal didn't know what was happening to her, I've never heard such a sustained, loud howling from her before. we were both extremely shocked, especially since there was no animal to be seen far and wide and no warning signs either. After all, we were on the "turn the goat into a gardener" away, it happened when we were threading through a gate, she probably hit the fence with her rod, the dog was soaking wet too. I copied the passage again (red dot). The dog was actually a little upset afterwards...now 4 hours later everything seems to be fine again. The rest of the tour was unspectacular, but overall a spectacular, scenic round. You only have to hide the high-voltage lines...

At this point, a big thank you to Yvonn for the inspiration. I just followed your tracks. It was great. 😃😍😃🤩😃

On this wonderful Sunday I picked out a tour that had been on my list for a long time. “Where the goat becomes a gardener” I started at the church in Dalhausen to climb the first mountain. Once at the top, narrow paths lead me along pastures with great views. The sun can be fully enjoyed up here. Then it goes straight back down through a pasture where the namesakes of this tour graze. From the bottom back up past dry stone walls into the beech forest. Here, however, the paths are wide and very damaged by forestry work. Very unfortunate. Finally, after a bit of up and down, you come back to the narrow paths of the goat pastures and back to the starting point. A very varied round and certainly even more beautiful when the trees are in bloom. Almost 13 km at 420 HM will definitely let me sleep well today.

A beautiful tour with a perfect view. 🥾🪻🐮🐐

... or where the Alpine feeling is created on a small scale and goats shape a landscape. 🐐🤩 We had expected two things: 1. More goats directly on the path, but because of their kids they were still in areas that were separated from people. We saw and heard them anyway - bleating and tinkling. 🔔 2. We had expected less of a path and were all the more surprised by the incredible number of narrow paths. Of course there were gravel paths and asphalt sections, but the 800m at the beginning were almost forgotten by the end. Hiking is simply fun in combination. 🐾 In short, the billy goat acts as a hard-working gardener and ensures that the calcareous grassland is preserved. There are still small orchids hidden in it. 🪻
