SPLENDID: I did it against the original route. We bring you the hike not to be missed under any circumstances! By parking in the Cap d'Erquy car park, follow the signs which will take you up to the blue lakes. The old pink sandstone quarries in which they were formed give way to a moor where heather rubs shoulders with broom and gorse to form a magnificent purple and gold plant carpet. You will benefit from a superb view of the port of Erquy. Continuing you will reach the tip of the cape. Take the time to get some fresh air while admiring the landscape before continuing towards the wild beaches of Lourtuais and Portuais. Nature remains in control here, with its expanses of ferns which will sometimes be a head taller than you. Results: 7.5km and your 10,000 steps are well exceeded!

A fairly easy loop with good physical condition. Very well marked (yellow arrows - Les Plages Sauvages) except that we did it in reverse and therefore may have been a little more difficult. Having done it at the beginning of April, the heathers were not yet in bloom to be amazed. But even without that, the landscapes are splendid.

Nice Sunday stroll. No difficulty to carry out with family

▶ ️😵 ◀ ️ We explored the picturesque town of Erquy on our last hike. We haven't come to the scallop tasting yet, the restaurants near the campsite have spontaneously decided to only open for a few days - or is it because of the low season? 🌴🤩🌴 Anyway, today we want to treat ourselves to dream beaches, a grandiose view over the bay of Erquy including the fishing port and a detour to two small blue lakes, which are about 40 m above sea level. All of this moderately packaged in a minimal incline on a distance of less than 8 km. 🕸️👀🕸️ What nobody told us, however, is: It's Spider-Man’s favorite hiking route along the coast! We would have liked to have had our hiking sticks with us at the beginning of the tour, because the path is quite narrow and it becomes difficult to place the hiking shoe from size 39. In addition, our “coming from your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man” could have cleaned up behind them - his Spider-Webs were everywhere ... 🤩👀🤩 But I don't want to complain, wonderful sunshine - did I mention that there was no fog? - the promised beautiful views of the coast and beaches! Incidentally, the two small lakes smuggled in through human intervention. Two old quarries where the Erquy pink sandstone was mined formed these lakes. After the quarries were closed, they filled with water. But I don't want to water down the photos with more text, so take a look at them without further comments ...

Cap d’Erquy is a real eye-catcher, it’s also a place steeped in history. Above all, you need to equip yourself with good shoes 🥾

This time, on the other side of the bay of Saint Brieuc in Erquy where we meet friends on holiday here and to discover another aspect of the fantastic Breton coast. Short loop but great impressions and swimming in the rollers of the raging English Channel today. Let the photos speak for themselves.
