Welcome to La Turgotière! This historic trail was created in the 18th century by Turgot to open up Corrèze. Today, it is used by hiking trails, much to the delight of hikers. The path passes through superb, refreshing woods, spans streams with large stone slabs, and blends beautifully with the relief of the Millevaches plateau. The route offers a very balanced and hilly terrain with a succession of gentle climbs and descents.
At the beginning of the hike, you pass by the very natural Celle pond. You'll also find the municipal campsite there, should you wish to spend the night nearby. In Lacelle, also be sure to explore the church, whose steeple wall is quite remarkable.
This hike is accessible by TER (regional train) since it starts and ends in front of the Lacelle train station. In front of the station, you'll also find a picnic area and public restrooms. Everything is in place to get going in the best possible conditions.
