The "Great Pyrmont Mountain Loop" circular hike takes you through the gently rolling hills of the Weser Uplands. The starting point is the hiking car park in Friedensthal near Bad Pyrmont.
First, you head west past the Schellenhof farm toward the Spelunkenturm tower. The path leads through open fields and sparse forests until you reach the tower. From here, you can enjoy magnificent views of the expansive landscape. After a short descent, you reach the edge of Bad Pyrmont. Along the Philosopher's Path, you hike to the Oberer Erdfall, a water-filled depression formed by the natural erosion of salt layers.
You climb through a dense deciduous forest to Pyrmonter Berg, the highest elevation in the region. Then, you continue to Schellenberg and its striking tower.
The final stage brings you back to the starting point. The nearby Gasthof Schellental invites you to refuel, and there are numerous places to stop for refreshments in Bad Pyrmont. However, you should pack some provisions and plenty of water.
