exit and End point: 🅿️ DorfladenBox at the Obernsee thermal baths, free parking space. (I recommend this starting point because there are no parking spaces at the official start in Obernsees and the path leads past the parking lot at the thermal baths anyway) Waymarking: Yellow dot on white background. I don't want to give a detailed description of the route here either, but rather get straight to the point and evaluate the next route tested. My conclusion is also extremely positive: the “Yellow Dot” circular route offers hikers a successful route, a manageable length and fantastic views. Here too, the signage is so good that it is impossible to get lost. The hiking trail can be easily walked even in mixed weather and wet conditions. Highlights: Truppach Castle (private property), nature and art space Neubürg, fantastic views of Franconian Switzerland, the Fichtel Mountains, the Franconian Forest, the Ahorntal and the Hummelgau. In summer there is the possibility of stopping at the Mengersdorf estate and the Kulturscheune restaurant in Obernsees.
Wonderful sun round from Obernsees. Goals: Wachstein and Neubürg
We (@Kainacher and Team Schlappohr) have been planning a joint tour to Neubürg for a long time and today the time has finally come! Neither illness, weather nor any other adversity could stop us today. In the most wonderful post-carnival and early spring weather we were also able to enjoy our twelfth hike together - who would have thought 😁😉 Neubürg is one of the classics in Franconian Switzerland and so I don't have to write much about it, except that I really enjoyed the tour 🔝. Wonderful paths through forest and fields, intoxicating views... what more could you want🤩.
Unfortunately, the electric fence for the goats blocked part of the circular route on the Neubürg. But I didn't have time today anyway, had an appointment 🥮🎂☕️ and more...
Today's round from the ADAC hiking guide Franconian Switzerland offered a lot of wind around your nose. The weather ox had written about a cold snap and there was a lot going on in the sky. But it turned out well. The new rain jacket was tested for windproofness. Now at this time of year you can admire the colorful Easter fountains everywhere; Obernsees and Truppach were there. There were no open inns on this tour; the bus stop in Gollenbach served as a rest area for a midday snack. The way back over the Streiter Berg was very beautiful and the sun came out again. Back in Obernsees it’s now time: “Off to the thermal baths!”
Hooray – it snowed again!! 😃 While the children are building snowmen and going sledding again, I prefer to take a long winter walk through the Franconian forests. The Neubürg is a 587-meter-high table mountain in the Franconian Jura. First, I pass the thermal baths, which we visited just last night and used the sauna for a relaxing break. Passing the cultural center, crossing the road, I quickly leave the Streiter Berg behind. In the short sections across fields, the wind whistles right through my nostrils. The wind whips through the air along with the loose snow. This is especially true when I climb to the summit of the Neubürg. It's decorated with artworks and called the Nature Art Space. I choose the descent through Wohnsgehaig, past Außerleithen. Following a steady downhill slope, I quickly reach Mengersdorf - from the church you can follow a story from the local legend along the children's adventure trail, in which children can actively participate.
