Hiking

The circular route that starts from Passo Bordala and goes up to Monte Stivo is a fascinating excursion that offers breathtaking views and a complete immersion in nature away from the crowds. It is a challenging trek that we recommend you undertake with good physical preparation.

You start in the gentle meadows of Passo Bordala, and continue uphill with steep curves that take you to the ridge that separates the Adige Valley from the Sarca Valley. Once you reach the fork near Cima Alta, continue along a panoramic ridge from which you have a wide view of the valley below. The path takes you to the summit of Monte Stivo, the highest of the excursion. You can reach it with a short detour from Rifugio Marchetti.

On the way down you pass Malga Stivo, a typical Alpine hut, and continue passing through the locality Le Prese, famous for its quiet and uncontaminated environment. This route offers an excellent opportunity to explore the mountain in a complete way, passing through woods, pastures and splendid Alpine panoramas.

Jacopo Fochesato 🥾🏔️🌄
March 2, 2025, Monte Stivo 🏔️☦️🏞️

Yesterday in the company of various friends from the CAI and others we decided to take this beautiful route that runs along Lake Garda. I thank my follower for being our guide and taking us to see this spectacular place. I saw it on YouTube and it inspired me a lot, what can I say? The videos don't give you an idea of the route, spectacular to say the least, breathtaking views, wonderful refuge and even better route. If you are trained I strongly advise against it as a route given the thousand meters of altitude difference, I lost a small part of the route because I forgot to reactivate Garmin.

Not difficult circular route. Avoid the northern section in case of snow or ice
