Very nice little tour through the national park. It leads partly along the lake with many places with direct water access. Another part leads through swampy areas which are easily accessible via footbridges. The last part for us led through the forest with many goblin-like, moss-covered stones. Highly recommended tour. There are also further, longer tours. The tour is very suitable for children, but the mosquitoes are everywhere!
This national park was only established in 1998. The extensive river landscape Färnebofjärden is characterized by floodplains, alluvial forest, rapids and jungle. This is where the typical plants and animals of southern and northern Sweden come together. It is one of Sweden's most valuable nature reserves, which is why it has been given national park status. We only arrive here in the afternoon and hike the 4 km loop from the Huvudentren entrance. In fact, a few raindrops fall. Also here in Sweden it is much too dry. The path first leads along the water and we are immediately surrounded by the blood-sucking monsters. Thanks to Antibrum and masking, we get off almost unscathed. On the way we find traces of beavers and think we have seen one in the water. The way back leads through the forest and repeatedly swamp passages have to be crossed on footbridges. The birch forest is fantastic and the lilies of the valley are blooming here now.
The nature and the rapids here are certainly unique and very admirable, but in this warm and humid season the mosquitoes are a real nuisance. Despite protective measures and a lot of wind, we were easy prey for the local bloodsuckers in the forest.
Unfortunately, the rain break only allowed a small lap. Nevertheless highly recommended.
The short Bändan round through Färnobofjärden is a good way to pass through. A path meanders along a wild river landscape. Footbridges lead through the swamps. swamps?! Wait a moment ... ! That's right, don't forget mosquito spray! Without protection, the beasts here will drive you insane. Interesting fact, the Limes Norlandicus, the biological northern border, runs here at Färnebofjärden National Park.
