North path 16 of 24. Now that it's on the home straight, I want to know it again and so today I hiked two more north paths. Ultimately also due to the fact that I have at least 45 minutes to get to the remaining north paths, so 14 kilometers are not really worth it. Unfortunately, this time I couldn't put the routes together directly and so there was a short break and car ride between the hikes. I haven't done that before either. But works. There is not really much exciting to report about the tour. The Hinzel is one of the largest forests between the Elbe and Weser and is a protected landscape. In my eyes, however, it is a commercial forest and so you walk through all the facets that such a forest entails. From beautiful renatured areas to horrible looking monocultures to active forestry work. The entire trail is along farm tracks, with the cobblestone paths being the most graceful. When I started I thought to myself, today the service roads won't bother me at all, the sun was shining all the way down the path, the birds were singing and the noise from the streets was decreasing with every meter. At some point, however, the long and straight passages became more and more boring, because there aren't really any highlights on the route. All in all, a forest that is home to some beautiful old beeches and other types of trees and in which you can exchange good views due to its size. If you come from the area, you can be happy to have so much forest in front of the door, so you can overlook the lack of forest paths. A longer journey is not worthwhile in my opinion. So hook it up and on to the next one https://www.komoot.de/tour/816253722.
Today we went on a hike with the "Freilauf Vissel" from Visselhövede. We started at 10 a.m. in Oerel at the waterworks car park. We then hiked clockwise through the shady forests of the Hinzel.
Those who prefer a quieter setting will be in good hands on the NORDPFAD Hinzel. There are no notable highlights here. No traces of the former naval weapons arsenal from 1930 (after all, the largest in the German Navy) were found. Only a dark metal gate at the side of the path gives a hint of what once went on in Hinzel... All information about the NORDPFAD Hinzel can be found at the following link: https://www.nordwaerts.de/aktiv-entspannt/tour/nordpfad-hinzel-100258973/ (as of July 5, 2025).
On New Year's Day we went relaxed on the north path in Hinzel. Not a spectacular tour, but you can still do a nice lap here. Sometimes the sun even came through. The start with a large parking lot is perfect.
If you find the forest alone boring, you will also find this north path boring. However, if you like forest and trees, you will like it all the more. For us, there is hardly anything more beautiful than the forest. So we really liked this round despite the weather. Forest, forest and more forest! There were some great trees to discover and interestingly grown tree fungi. A wonderful silence surrounded us. Highly recommended for all forest lovers! @Dayenna We didn't meet Hinzel and Kunzel either 😁 In general, it was almost deserted.
A north path is a north path is a north path ??? No! Definitely not! A north path like this is great because it ends where it started (no matter where you start😁). And then it is very different depending on the season, of which there are at least four. And then running the other way around again, it offers a completely different picture! So make at least 8 beautiful trails in the course of the year. And beauty comes from within, one might think. But it's not always like that. Here, too, there is a military past (#Burkhard), which you can read on e.g. "Relektiven.com", #Marinesperrwaffenarsenal Heinschenwalde ... The Hinzel presented itself today with few insects in late summer glory. It was very quiet and a bit windy - a dream for hiking. 😎 My recently acquired Italians thought so too 🥾🥾 that carried me undamaged through the landscape. For once I have hardly seen any animals, but wonderful plays of light, clouds, celestial beings, late fruits and the first mushrooms. And that's when I decided that autumn will begin today, my personal favorite time!
We started in Oerel at the “Am Wasserwerk” parking lot and hiked clockwise through the Hinzel. Pure forest bathing, with lots of rest areas.
A nice hiking tour with a lot of forest in different shapes. Unfortunately, few benches to linger or for a coffee break.

Hello, there is currently a huge tree in the natural forest that can only be bypassed by entering the forest.
