Levanzo, the smallest of the Egadi islands, is a jewel suspended between the sky and the sea. With just 208 inhabitants, it retains an authentic and wild soul, transforming into a lively summer refuge when its paths, beaches and streets of the village come alive with people from all over the world.
Leaving the village behind you, take the coastal road that winds towards the southwest and continues along the coast. You will soon reach Cala Faraglione, a small bay framed by turquoise waters. In front of you, the Faraglione towers over the sea and seems to invite you to reach it with a few strokes. From here, the gaze also takes in Favignana and Marettimo.
The path narrows between the rocks and turns into a trail that climbs up to the houses of Pietre Varate. Here, the sunset lights up the horizon, painting the sea with golden hues. Continuing, the path enters among the scents of the Mediterranean scrub, skirting Pizzo del Monaco, the peak of the island.
Now the path descends gently into an open valley, then widens into a dirt road. On the horizon, the village of Levanzo reappears, ever closer, until it leads you once again among its picturesque streets.

CAI Mondovi trip to Levanzo, circular route in an anti-clockwise direction, cobbled streets, paths and path. Actual time 2h 36minutes
Today's tour took us to the small island of Levanzo, where only about a hundred people live. The ferry took us to the island in about 50 minutes, which we then explored in a beautiful tour. In addition to the diverse flora, Levanzo also has another highlight: the Genoese Cave, which was first discovered by a girl in the 1950s. In this cave there are paintings and stone carvings of people from Neolithic times! With a guide we were allowed to take a closer look at these drawings - very impressive! On the hike there were always great views of the sea, the cliffs and the neighboring islands of Favignano and Marettimo. A wonderful day with sun and clouds but luckily no water from above.
