This route was planned by komoot.
I already knew that I was enthusiastic about coastal hikes. But this Sunday in the nature reserves Åsvikelandet and Torrö still exceeded everything I had hoped for 🌿 In the southernmost part of the Östergötland archipelago, four nature reserves are right next to each other - together they form one of the largest, connected nature reserves on the Baltic coast. And it doesn't take long before you notice exactly that: that the region has been intensively protected for a long time. The forests are dotted with old trees, while the vegetation changes again and again. Birds flutter from treetop to treetop, the forest floor shines in all the colors of late autumn. And in between: the sound of the sea. I really couldn't get enough of this hike - and we don't have to: because we are even allowed to spend the night in various rest cabins (Övernattningsstuga). Note: There are no publicly accessible roads in the Torrö nature reserve, so there is no parking space. The next one is in Åsvikelandet nature reserve. About 700 meters after our starting point there is another, small parking lot. Have fun! 🥾🌿
This tour was incredibly beautiful! Just walking along the forest path is great! But it's really beautiful when you use the paths through the forest and walk along the water. A dream! It's all easy to walk, there are no difficult spots. Don't forget mosquito repellent and take plenty of time to look and be amazed! The paths are well marked with orange signs, it's part of the Östgötaleden. There are no refreshments along the way, but there are a few picnic areas with grills. Have fun!
