This route was planned by komoot.
This hike is absolutely fantastic, but very strenuous, as the "path" leads almost entirely over scree. The view, however, makes it all worthwhile. https://youtu.be/2eNjFGuSyv8?si=dFdVV2eAdMY_6asY
Definitely sturdy shoes, the route goes over hill and dale
Back to Fulufjället, we did this round last year aswell, the path has new marking (orange paint) there was still snow on the path up to the waterfall like last year (to delight of the dogs) and on top it was still a bath of rocks to walk on. The waterfall itself was rather low in water. The view is amazing. The path down was slightly better this year, definitly worked on it. Its still steep and intense but better! This area is always amazing and worth your while ☺️ Near the Naturum you often see Siberian Jay's and on the waterfall, if lucky, you spot a gyrfalcon.
Very difficult to walk after it's rained. The stones are extremely slippery!
wow, wow, wow Breathtaking landscape, fascinating Njupeskär waterfall (with the highest free fall height of 70m, the largest in Sweden, so to speak), Old Tjikko (the oldest tree on earth, even if it doesn't look like it in terms of size), this hike is simply stunning. In summer, the crowds at the waterfall might be a little annoying, but now at the beginning of June it was just perfect. more impressions in the YT video (01:21:31 NP Fulufjället) -->> https://youtu.be/ahTwbfP81Es
Loop above the waterfall to Old Tjikko and via bridge over the inflow of the waterfall. Difficult in places over very rough scree.
Today we decided to visit the Fulufjället NP. It was pouring rain. But we didn't want to wait for a gap in the clouds and just started walking. ...There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad gear 😉 The oldest tree in the world doesn't look like it at first glance. But it is, so to speak, a "new" shoot that you can see. The actual trunk lies below and is barely visible. The waterfall is spectacular with a drop of 93m. The incision also looks powerful from above. The terrain above the waterfall is a challenge, either muddy through the rain or miles over and through boulders, sure-footedness was required. Finally, a tip, if it's not raining, the mosquitoes will eat you up - don't forget your mosquito repellent. 😉👍🐝🇸🇪
Today we stopped at Fulufjället National Park on our way to northern Sweden. At first the rain slowed us down, but armed with rain gear we started hiking. The risk of getting wet was worth it, the weather god was lenient, the sun even came out 🌞. We then decided to hike the big round trip, so we tackled Sweden's highest waterfall and the oldest tree in the world "Old Tjikko". The paths on the mountains were quite softened by the rain, something like water hiking or mud fights 🫣, at the end we thoroughly cleaned the hiking boots in the stream at the park entrance. A great tour despite the rain and low temperatures 😀👍.
