This route was planned by komoot.
Perfect route for families. Endless blueberries. Absolute recommendation
Very nice hike! Easy is misleading though. Sturdy shoes and surefootedness are essential.
A short hike today. Komoot says the difficulty level is easy, but it isn't. Not suitable for people with knee problems. Otherwise a beautiful tour. 😀 Hiked through forest areas that look like a jungle, walked on a high plateau and to the rocking stone (no, you can't knock it over 😂). Really fantastic and highly recommended. After such great impressions, you wonder why people have to destroy everything through wars and environmental pollution. ☹️ Hopefully this place keeps its magic. 🪄
This was one of the most beautiful hikes we have ever been on. The hilly landscape created by the last ice age with forest, heather, granite rock and canyon formations simply blew us away - so beautiful. The weather was also right: 21 degrees Celsius, 🌞 and a light breeze delighted our hikers' hearts. Later there was 2 hours of heavy rain ... but luckily we were already at home 😃.
Wonderful circular route, especially in the first few kilometers. You wouldn't believe that there is such rocky nature on Bornholm. And you certainly don't think about small gorges. In the last section you walk the same route with 2 other circular routes, which you notice straight away because there are significantly more people on the trail.
On the yellow route through Paradisbakken. A very beautiful hike with many different landscape formations. Well worth it!
A beautiful, very varied circular hike in the "Paradise Hills," a large forest area crisscrossed by several rift valleys running north to south. Passing the dry Øksemyre and the idyllic Gamledam, we reach Dybdal, where we walk along the edge of the escarpment, and shortly afterwards reach the "Troldestueren" (High Heather) – I wonder if the famous Trølle Bølle lives here?!? We cross a so-called high heath, for me the most beautiful part of the hike, at the end of which we can enjoy a beautiful view of the Majdal valley, and finally reach the highest point of the Paradise Hills, the 112-meter-high "Midterpilt." The trail leads a short distance through the forest and eventually reaches a paved road, which we follow for a few meters before the markings lead us onto a hiking trail that leads us down the valley through pines and ferns in an almost alpine setting. At the end of the trail, we find the Rokkestenen, a huge boulder that can be moved (minimally) with muscle power. Now it's not far back to the starting point of our hike. The tour is quite challenging, as it involves a lot of "strewn and dale," meaning roots and rocks, and requires crossing several crevasse valleys. I was certainly glad I had my hiking poles with me.
The Paradise Hills (Paradisbakkerne) are a unique natural area in the east of Bornholm. The hilly terrain offers hikers three circular routes. The path marked with a yellow triangle is the longest and is considered the most beautiful. It is extremely varied and leads through forest, a crevice valley with a gorge and heathland with free-roaming sheep. The starting point is at a parking lot east of Nexø, where all circular routes start. The path initially leads into the forest and steadily over the hills, over roots, sticks and stones. Autumn is already here: ripe berries and rose hips on the bushes, a number of mushrooms in the undergrowth and the first discolored leaves paint a colorful picture. It is worth taking a break on the rocks at Gamledam, a beautiful high moor lake. Even the path around the lake is a little adventure. Numerous dragonflies are currently cavorting here. It goes right along the shore, where the reeds grow and you have great views of the many water lilies and the imposing rocks in the background. We continue through a gap valley in which a deep gorge runs right next to the hiking trail. More mighty rock formations follow until the forest clears and you step through a gate. An impressive heather landscape opens up here, criss-crossed by rocks, blueberry and juniper bushes. In contrast to the forest, everything here looks purple and reddish, because the heather is still in bloom. A bleating nearby reveals the sheep that roam free here. In the neighboring forest, too, you can see sheep everywhere that break out of the undergrowth and unexpectedly cross the path. 🐏 At the end of the round you pass the Rokkesten, the largest rocking stone on the island. The rock, which weighs around 35 tons, found its way here in the Ice Age and with a little movement can be made to wobble at one point. If you want, you can also climb up a small ladder. It is not for nothing that the paradise hills are considered to be one of the most varied natural areas on Bornholm. Each new section of this hike is like a different world. So many natural and cultural landscapes, relics of bygone times and discoveries on every corner in a relatively short distance. Simply wonderful, very clear recommendation!
