Today's tour from the Racheldiensthütte over the Rachelsee to the rock pulpit and back to the Racheldiensthütte. wonderful route through the beautiful Bavarian forest and Goldsteigweg.
From the Spiegelau P+R, you can easily take the IGEL bus to the starting point. Buses run hourly to the Racheldiensthütte. The hike is very beautiful, and we can recommend it in this direction as well. After a variety of trails, you reach the beautiful Rachelsee lake with a view of the Rachel. 😍 You could continue hiking to the Rachel Chapel or the summit, but we opted for the return route via the Felsenkanzel (rock pulpit). A stop at the Racheldiensthütte is highly recommended! 😋
“Buntspecht” circular route from the Racheldiensthütte, arrival by hedgehog bus. If you go clockwise, the climb is a little longer, but less steep, over paths that are partly wooded and partly rocky. Lake reached after 1 hour (according to sign 1.5 hours). Total time including stay at the lake, without pulpit, 2.5 hours. No problem for dogs 🐕.
Beautiful hike through quiet forest and lots of babbling water.
The view from the Rachel chapel is absolutely worth seeing. You go down the extra stretch on the same path.
