Beautiful and strenuous tour with a great panorama. Steadily uphill with a fantastic landscape. Even the approach on the toll road (7€) behind zur Eng is a scenic treat.
As I can't get enough of the mountains here...a little helping after today's early loop. The Ladiz-Alpe is in a fantastic location, but the ascent to get there is tough. possibly next time in combination with the Falkenhütte, the afternoon was too hot for that ☀️ and unfortunately the time was already advanced.
Nice tour, good training, met two other biobikers! The last section was a bit steep in places, but pushing for a bit wasn't a problem!
Nice but strenuous tour through an impressive landscape - especially from the Ladizalpe it is really steep uphill. The Falkenhütte is located at the end of the Johannis Bach valley, right next to the Lalider walls with their impressive walls rising almost 1000 m. The tour is not a round trip, as the connection to the Lalidertal is closed to bikers. The hut offers very good food with friendly wait staff - very pleasant. The hut is very busy around lunchtime and especially on the weekends, so you might get up a little earlier. The hut belongs to the Alpine Club and is only open in the summer months.
Such a wonderful tour in this fascinating landscape, plus dream weather, in short: a perfect day 😎😃👍
I haven't been to Kleiner Ahornboden for years. Today we have ambitiously combined this with the Falkenhütte. As always, the Karwendel reliably delivers beads of sweat and, as a reward, spectacular pictures 😁. One by one... we start at the toll booth a short distance on the road towards Eng - hellish traffic today, the word has probably gotten around that there is something to see here in October 🍁. We soon turn off into the Johannestal, where it gets a little quieter, but the valley, which was little used during the week a few years ago, is now accessible to a wider audience thanks to electric bikes. Everything is easy to drive up to the Ladizalpe on the wide road, even if the approximately 800m up to here obviously becomes noticeable towards the end. We still tackle the Falkenhütte, I'll put up with a lot of exertion for a great panorama. Today for me it means almost completely pushing the remaining 200 meters in altitude. The first 90 of them after the Alpe are so steep that I can no longer get into the saddle after that. The bike still comes with me to the hut because I don't want to walk downhill too 🤣. And wow, it's cold here below the Laliderer walls! Nothing like it. In the (already closed) hut we find a sunny place protected from the wind for a well-deserved snack and to warm up. Incredibly beautiful up here! We wrap up warmly for the downhill, because it goes along the walls over to the Kleiner Ahornboden. To do this, we choose a short, fun trail below the Ladizalpe. It rumbles over hill and dale, the brake finger has something to do, but it also has to hold back, because if you're too slow you'll get stuck on the very coarse gravel. The Kleine Ahornboden no longer has any sun, but we are now all alone here. Further downhill we take the two possible trails next to the forest road, the first very easy, the second a little more demanding, but both have exposed areas and are therefore only recommended for experienced bikers (we saw bad things today!). I was pleased that you can now use the path above the Johannesklamm again; in a few places there are dizzying views of the gorge. Very worthwhile tour, filled up with light and mountains again before the temperatures reach single digits next week 😇.
Very difficult MTB tour 🤩From Hinterriss am Rissbach, the landscape was so incredibly beautiful... I got lost right away. Totally overwhelmed by the scenery🤩 The climb into the Johannestal valley with steep climbs. I had to stop and catch my breath several times until I reached the Ladizalm 😂😂 Just behind the Ladizalm, it's a steep climb with a gradient of between 20 and 25% and much deeper, loose gravel 😡 Damn it, I'm going back 🤪 Pushing the bike up on the gravel was no fun. Some people were pushing their mountain bikes downhill. The Laliderer Walls, so close, almost to the base of the rock face, were incredibly beautiful and impressive. If I hadn't sweated so much on the climb, I could have cried with joy. I'm incredibly impressed by it, simply beautiful. The climb to the Falkenhütte is still incredibly steep. But what a view! Full concentration on the descent from the Falkenhütte to the Laditzalm. The route is a hugely steep gravel monster. 😉💪 From the Laditzalm, the high-speed descent begins. Falkenhütte to the Hinterriss parking lot: 45 minutes. 🤩💪💪💪💪
Visited the Falkenhütte again today. Always a wonderful experience. Both the scenery and the hospitality are top-notch.
