Trail Reviews

November 5, 2025, Baiersbronner Renchtal Gravel

I took a short break to make the most of the nice weather. It was worth it.

A scenic tour based on the template from https://www.komoot.com/de-de/tour/1191124493 , planned by @Nationalparkregion Schwarzwald / @Schwarzwald Tourismus, expanded to include the Glaswaldsee, the Buhlbachsee and the Rinkenturm. At the start of the tour it looked as if the peaks were covered in fog, but everything has now cleared up. Unfortunately the sun only appeared sporadically. The Glaswaldsee is a beautiful spot, but in retrospect I would skip this detour because of the short pushing sections and (later) a rough, steep descent. The Rinkenturm is also best done as a detour from the Satteleihütte, the direct descent from the Rinkenturm is not suitable for gravel. All in all a really nice tour, albeit with a fair amount of elevation and cool temperatures 'up there'. It was fun. More gravel tours around Baiersbronn can be found at https://www.baiersbronn.de/natur-aktivitaeten/biken/gravelbiken and as a Komoot Collection here: https://www.komoot.com/de-de/collection/2217381/-gravelbiketouren-in-baiersbronn
