Hiking

You will experience some personal moments of happiness on this hike. The tour gently goes up and down through orchards and allotments, to panoramic heights and past small water paradises. Let yourself be surprised by the tour around Grünberg and also discover the lucky places.

You start your lucky tour at the train station in Grünberg and hike towards Göbelnrod. To your right, the watchtower towers on a hill, which is worth a detour. The view from there is overwhelming. You can also enjoy a magnificent panoramic view on the Queckborner Höhe. Your gaze wanders over the city and the region to the Vogelsberg and the Taunus, and if the visibility is good, you can even see the Frankfurt skyline.

It continues downhill until you reach the small ice pond. In winter you can go ice skating, and in the warmer seasons benches invite you to linger. A wonderful place for a long picnic. You stay in the water kingdom and finally reach the Brunnental along the Äschersbach. The former waterworks and old mills are stops along the way. From here it is worth taking a detour to the Grünberg market square with its historic half-timbered ensemble before heading back to the train station.

Trail Reviews

Markus
July 4, 2025, Grünberger Glücksweg

This trail truly deserves its name. I feel happy on every hike, but today's tour offers an extra dose of magnificent views and impressions. And the Brunnental valley in Grünberg is a place of happiness anyway.

Shot a short lap 🔄 around Grünberg 🏘 today. For this we ran 🚶🏼 ♀️🚶🏼 ♂️ the Grünberger Glücksweg 🍀. This led us 1️⃣❌️ counterclockwise ↪️ through autumnal 🍁🍃🍂 fields and fields.

A day off! I really needed one today, and we even got lucky with the weather 🍀, so we spent a lovely day in Grünberg afterwards. Hiking, strolling, cappuccino – that's what we did today 👌🥾💖🥰 I can definitely recommend the Glücksweg (Happiness Trail). It offers plenty of open space, beautiful views, lots of meadows, and lovely soft paths. Especially in the Brunnental (Fountain Valley), many a stream babbled so nicely... lovely to listen to. And there was even a sensory lounger suspended like a swing – the "Glücksschaukel" (Happiness Swing) – which we used as a rest stop, swinging back and forth, so cool 😇... it was wonderful! And 😃: The Glücksweg was the 600th tour on Komoot today 🍀🙏.

Today again with the OHGV LONDORF and many nice hiking friends. In the Brunnental we took part in a very informative tour of the Grünberger water supply. Highly recommended. Despite the high temperatures, it was a beautiful and successful hike. Finished at the Bistro Schirn. The conclusion of the hike. All participants were happy on the Grünberger Glücksweg. Thank you for being there.

The circular route around Grünberg inspires with its varied routes that lead over mountains and valleys and promise new views over and over again. Start right away with the highlight Brunnental, with its numerous springs and biotopes. Enjoy soothing sensory impressions based on the element of water and take a walk along the Äschersbach. The former waterworks and old mills line the roadside. You pass the area of the riding club until you have to cross the country road and after a short detour through the residential area you reach the idyllic ice pond. It continues slowly uphill through a small forest to the Queckborner Höhe, from there you have a wonderful view of the city and the region as far as the Vogelsberg and Taunus. When the weather is clear, you can even see the silhouette of Frankfurt am Main. After you have thoroughly enjoyed the 360 ° panoramic view, you continue towards Göbelnrod. Here you cross the railway tracks and follow the path through gently rolling fields and meadows. Passing orchards you will see the watch tower on a hill, which is worth a short detour. Otherwise it goes past allotment gardens towards the city center. You will pass the train station, which is also a starting and ending point if you use public transport. The viaduct takes you to a residential area, from where a path takes you back to the Brunnental and the hiking car park at the Alsfelder Brücke. Nice little short loop trail. A few nice places to sit that invite you to rest. Beautiful views included. Am I happier now? No idea. But it was just the thing for us today. The Brunnental is always totally beautiful... Only the psycho 🦢 scares me. Either he's totally wuschig or a misogynist and follows me every time. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 In summer when there is a lot of sun, I would not necessarily recommend the path, as it mostly goes through open fields.

The Grünberg Happiness Trail 🍀 has been on my to-do list for a while. 🙂 But I think everyone who can be out and about today is following their own personal path of happiness – with this wonderful weather, ☀️everywhere you look, everything is lush green🌿 and sprouting. 🌱It couldn't be more beautiful, and that simply makes you happy! 🤗 The Grünberg Happiness Trail in particular leads through fields, meadows, and hedges, through the Brunnental valley with its ponds and streams (not to mention the large marble run and water playground for the kids), then back to the train station where we started. Along the way, we had fantastic views of both the Großer and Kleiner Feldberg mountains as well as the Hoherodskopf. Truly a perfect happiness booster today. 🍀👍🏻😊

Unfortunately the signage was missing at times, so we had to add a small loop...
