If you like adventures and don't suffer from vertigo, you are facing one of the best routes you can find on our island. The route is difficult, not only because of the distance, but also because of the numerous steep steps you encounter. In addition, it is highly recommended that you bring enough water and food for the entire walk.
Of course, the reward not only awaits you in the form of incredible views of the sea from immense cliffs, but throughout the route, the rugged natural landscape of the Canary Islands offers you a multitude of images of cacti and succulents in all their varieties, in addition to the collage of colors and textures of our orography.
This excursion requires a good physical condition and experience in demanding mountain routes, since at some points you will have to climb. It is advisable to wear footwear that protects your ankles and has a sole with good traction, hiking poles, a good backpack with everything you need to spend the day and, of course, your preferred image capture device.
The starting point is located near the Cruz del Carmen restaurant. You can travel by private vehicle and park it in the parking lot of the interpretation center of the Anaga rural park or by bus lines 76, 77, 272 and 275 from the La Laguna interchange.
Note: construction work at kilometer 13, in the El Batán area.

This route was planned by komoot.
The most demanding but also the most beautiful tour in a long time. The ascent was sporty but doable. On our descent we didn't see any other hikers, the rain the day before made the paths really slippery and due to the swelling watercourses there were sometimes no more walkable paths. Came for me in parts like Indiana Jones in the jungle....chest-high bushes made it difficult to see the run and the steep slope was omnipresent. In the end we were happy when civilization got back to us...😂
Pure nature awaits you here in the Anaga Mountains. Very nice barranco. Path clearly visible in or along the riverbed. For a barranco here on Tenerife there is little scree etc., which allows for relatively quick progress. The climb is really steep and strenuous. Good footwear and fitness required. Very promising later. There are wonderful views on the way back down. Definite recommendation to climb up through the Barranco and then descend back with a view of the sea........ pure enjoyment.
