This road is a great ride through some truly breathtaking landscapes. However, you will need to be on your toes as the road is very narrow is some places with little to no shoulder. You've made it this far so take some time to stretch your legs and enjoy the view. There are toilets and a small picnic area here, was well as a short trail the the Timber Creek Overlook. While there isn't a bike rack there are fences you can lock your bike to if you want to explore the hiking trail.

Is the Timber Creek Overlook Trail suitable for cycling?

No, the Timber Creek Overlook Trail is exclusively for hiking. It's a short, easy trail with a dirt and rock surface, some scrambling, and even wood-framed steps, making it unsuitable for touring bicycles. The main cycling route is the paved Kolob Canyon Road itself.

What is the best time of year to cycle Kolob Canyon Road?

The road is generally accessible year-round, conditions permitting. However, the scenery changes beautifully with the seasons, from snow-dusted red Navajo sandstone in winter to wildflowers in spring and early summer, and golden leaves in autumn. Spring and fall often offer the most pleasant cycling temperatures.

Are dogs allowed on the Kolob Canyon Road or the Timber Creek Overlook Trail?

In Zion National Park, pets are generally not allowed on unpaved trails, including the Timber Creek Overlook Trail. From the Kolob View Point, you'll get panoramic views of the Colorado Plateau, with distant sights of Shuntavi Butte, Timber Creek, Kolob Terrace, the Pine Valley Mountains, and even Mount Trumbull on clear days.

What is the terrain like for cycling Kolob Canyon Road?
