The terrain is quite varied, offering a diverse riding experience. You'll encounter mostly paved paths, especially on uphill sections, but also natural trails, forest paths, small downhill singletracks, and gravel sections. There's even a short, steep trail cutting through sandstone formations, adding to the challenge and fun.
This circuit is generally categorized as moderate in physical rating and intermediate in skill level, corresponding to an STS S2 difficulty rating. While it's a popular route, good fitness and advanced riding skills are beneficial, especially on the natural trails and downhill sections where higher speeds can increase the adrenaline.
The circuit offers a mix of historical sites and beautiful views. You'll pass by the Centgrafenkapelle — Ruins and View over Miltenberg, ancient stone pillars (Heunesäulen), and an archaeological excavation at a former ring wall. There are also scenic views over Miltenberg, the Erftal valley, and picturesque vineyards. Don't miss the Marian Chapel at the Stutz with views over Bürgstadt and the Main Valley.
Yes, the route includes several playful and flowy sections that mountain bikers enjoy. Look out for the Foubitrail 1, Trail 21 (BÜ1), Bavarian Odenwald Nature Park, and the Wild Boar Trail. These sections offer a more dynamic riding experience.
The circuit can be enjoyed through much of the year. However, visiting during the 'Häckerzeit' (harvest season) in autumn can be particularly rewarding, as many local wineries offer wine tasting and snacks, adding a cultural dimension to your ride. Spring and early summer also offer pleasant conditions with lush greenery.

Took time off today and Bad Orb was originally planned. In the heat, however, the tour was too difficult for me with more than 1000 Komoot meters in altitude, so I quickly went to Bürgstadt and was able to check off another route on my list. ✅ The tour offers great panorama and impressive landscapes, especially the rock deposits there is not something you see every day. Also great in summer, since a lot runs in the forest. The trails themselves are ok, bring some flow here and there but it doesn't get technical anywhere so the route is technically suitable for everyone. Also conditionally with approx. 650HM completely ok, only at the beginning it goes steeply up, then hardly any gradients. Finally we went along the Main to the beer garden in Miltenberg. It was shit 🍻
Bürgstadt1 in my list as driven ✔ ...and almost at competitive speed. Thanks go to Jürgen for the great and fast tour.
Beautiful MTB route, with mostly natural single trails. The view of Miltenberg from the Centgrafenkapelle is particularly beautiful 😍 https://mtb-geo-naturpark.de/strecke/buergstadt-bue1/
Bü1 with lots of easy-to-ride trails that are in very good condition even at this time of year. And because I still had a bit of time, I added the Haagsaussicht to the list. Now my bike is crying out for a wash and my stomach for lunch.
With a bike tour right after work, the weekend 😎 starts immediately and immediately forgets the entire working week - I should treat myself much more often. Today I followed the official Bürgstädter MTB route Bü1 - without detours and detours and with only 25 km also feasible with little time. The route has a lot to offer and is highly recommended👍: Vineyards🍇, beautiful views, great meadow and forest paths, Centgrafenkapelle, Ringwall and of course many, many great trails - which are easy to master in terms of driving technique and are a lot of fun🙃. Not to be forgotten is the charming town of Bürgstadt, directly on the Main, with its countless winegrowers and half-timbered houses. Fortunately, the dark clouds at the start of the tour turned out to be harmless and the mud factor on the way was limited. Only the Wildsautrail🐗 was quite slippery at times, due to the wet clay soil, and made me sway a bit - without falling, I got back to my car very satisfied and relaxed😇.
