This route was planned by komoot.
07/10/2023 Today we drove to the Landart in Grindelwald. The Landart always takes place at the beginning of summer in Grindelwald. Since the building material to be used for the exhibits must come largely from the surrounding nature, the exhibition is at its most beautiful immediately after completion. The ascent to Grindelwald is steep between Lütschental and Burglauenen, but is easy to do with an eBike. Between Burglauenen and Schwendi there is a very nice flow-like trail along the Lütschine.
Reconstruction of the bike tour. I didn't have a Komoot account at the time - I stole all the information from the internet on a site called 'Komoot' that I didn't know at the time and printed it out. 10/14/2021 My birthday I was traveling in Switzerland for a few days - I left my van at the campsite on October 14th and went on a nice bike tour. I went up from the campsite in Interlaken (altitude: 568 m) to Grindelwald (altitude: 1,220 m). It was around 9:30 a.m. when I started. It went a bit through the town - then almost always along the railway line towards Grindelwald. I was super lucky with the weather - pure sunshine - and that in mid-October... High mountains are already looming to the right and left - I rode uphill on small roads and cycle paths through the Lütschental - it was still quite cool in the shade - pleasant in the sun. Just before Grindelwald we went through a forest for a short time - a nice little single trail! The route was easy to ride - there were no significant inclines - it went slowly and steadily uphill. When we arrived in Grindelwald it was already nice and warm! Grindelwald is a tourist town - lots of cable cars leave from here - around 6 of them - in all directions. So I left quickly... I wanted to continue up by bike - after Grindelwald it was very steep - my first battery died immediately (I got from Interlaken to Grindelwald after all) - the second battery didn't last long either - I didn't have any experience with an e-bike... How quickly the battery runs out in the mountains... So does it mean giving up and going back? - or reaching the day's destination and pushing. I decided to push... There was also a bus here - but I didn't feel like it - and I was also stubborn and wanted to do it without a bus. After about 1 1/2 hours of pushing I had reached the day's destination - the "Oberer Gletscher" / Wetterhorn bus station. Here I enjoyed the view, wet with sweat - I'll come back sometime and ride much further up... I put on my rain jacket and rain pants (because of the wind and no spare T-shirt with me) and set off for home. Wow, that went downhill really quickly!! I took the same small roads that I had come on - but I rode a bit on the main road (which runs parallel to the small road) - that was quicker... On the way, I was hit by something - I fell - I looked to the left on a narrow path with fine gravel - there was a man standing in an empty riverbed - while I was still wondering what he was doing there - I couldn't brake fast enough - I almost crashed into the barbed wire... Bang, there I was - that gave me a nice bruise on my chest / in the rib area... Luckily, the brake handle was only broken 1.5 cm at the end - the handlebars were twisted... Luckily, nothing else happened. We carried on - did a quick bit of shopping and then had a shower... The ascent took about 5-6 hours - the descent about 1 1/2 hours - at most! Lovely birthday tour in a beautiful area!
