A beautiful loop that's also great for warmer temperatures. The trail begins through a beech forest, continues through a moor, then passes through an alder forest with a few oak trees, before returning along a shady path along Lake Plau.
The hiking trail starts at Klüschenberg in Plau am See and leads past the climbing park and Ziegelsee lake into the Plau city forest. A wooden footbridge leads you across the Hofstätter Moor. The trees standing in the water here are called black alders. The trail continues to the castle rampart and the castle lake – home to up to 34 species of dragonflies and the kingfisher. Passing a mighty moor, the Lökengrund, it leads to the Appelburg district. Here, if you look carefully, you can still spot the remains of the land defense system. Along the idyllic Seeluster Bay, the trail passes villas and returns to the town. The bronze statue "Coriolanus" is by the famous Plau sculptor Prof. Wandschneider. The first attempt at flight with a seaplane was made around 100 years ago at the "Zuruf" headland. The Seestraße and Dammstraße lead back to the starting point at Klüschenberg. Want to quickly do the nearly 10 km loop? That's unlikely, as the circular route is quite challenging and "forces" frequent breaks. No, not breather breaks due to strenuous climbs, but rather pauses to enjoy the constantly changing natural beauty. That's not an exaggeration, because where else can you hike between several lakes amidst moorland and marshland? Wonderful, secluded paths lead directly along the shores of dreamy lakes into light-filled beech forests. Just a moment ago, it was the intense green canopy of leaves, and soon Lake Plauer stretches out before you. Boats bob in the water in front of chic villas, and well-maintained lidos tempt you to take a refreshing dip.
The path should be renamed to Schnakenweg🫣otherwise a nice hike 👍 and the gap in the rain was fully utilized.
Trail of the Magic Stones is a hiking and cycling trail through the Plau city forest. The path is well signposted with large boulders and boulders. A very nice tour with slight climbs through a beautiful natural landscape.
What a beautiful forest the Plauer Stadtwald is! It's worth it: https://www.mecklenburgische-seenplatte.de/wandertour-spur-der-zaubersteine
Day 4 Mother & son holiday High-contrast tour, first through the Plau city forest, nice on forest roads and paths. Way back along the lake shore, with many great bays. Finally, an EKS...🍹 Nice day and great hiking tour 😊
Nice round through the city forest and along the lake. The weather played along until almost the end. But the rain caught us on the last few meters 🌧️. The magic stones are large, beautifully grained stones along the way.
