Actually, you can't really call this tour a hike - at best it's probably a culinary walk, because on the Johnsbacher Almenrunde you feast from hut to hut (4 in total!), with the crowning achievement waiting 2.5 km below the starting point : The highly praised Käsespätzle & Kaiserschmarrn from the Kölblwirt (not to be confused with the Kölblalm). You can find more tips for the Gesäuse on Wanderfolk: https://wanderfolk.de/2020/11/13/gesaeuse-wandern-steiermark/
Well, mostly in the forest, some places with great views of the mountains, but I still wouldn't do the tour again.
A wonderful round when the mountains are in the clouds and you don't necessarily want to go on a foggy hike! It is definitely a nice route for pedal knights and can be expanded as required.
A lovely, leisurely hike with my daughter, son-in-law, and dog. It was quite cold at first, around ten degrees Celsius. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and even found a few mushrooms.
Yes, they exist. From the Ebner car park (6€) following the silver signs, this circular route rattles off all the pastures in this area. Right at the beginning there is also a romantic gorge. After the gorge, turn left away from the signs for an alternative - also marked ascent through the forest to the Kölblalm (served). After that via Pfarralm, Schrockhof Alm, Humlechneralm and Huberalm up to Neuburgalm. Here it would go down to Radmer, but we turn around and back to the turnoff to Ebneralm. After the lunch break, the descent to the ZeiringerAlm up for coffee. Now it's not far back to the starting point. So it is also possible to do a leisurely and easy hike in the Xeis 😏.
