This route was planned by komoot.
Beautiful tour around Hirsau. The former monastery grounds are impressive. The absolute highlight: the lonely, wildly romantic Wolfsschlucht with a great landscape and many small waterfalls. Light climbing is required in the upper portion of the trail. But this part can be avoided. Particularly recommended in slippery conditions. Then beautiful forest paths and back through the Tälesbach gorge. As a reward, we recommend a visit to the monastery café in the monastery garden. Open Friday to Sunday.
Not as long as the Monbach but a little steeper and just as beautiful 👍👍👍 unfortunately Komoot didn't take me through the entire gorge 😪😪😪 although I still have the sign 📸 and could have rescheduled it, but those who can read have an advantage 🥴🥴🥴
@Moni W. 🥾🐶🍀 Thank you for introducing the tour. ..even if we didn't do it like that. I wanted to take another look at the monastery, so we started in the immediate vicinity. Today we were able to enjoy the historical atmosphere all by ourselves. In St. Mary's Church, our attention was drawn to the 12 apostles on the wall pillars. We leave the monastery grounds and take the first climb with the Brudersteige. In Ernstmühl we cross the Nagold, then we reach the entrance to the Wolfsschlucht. At first the path runs relatively unspectacularly next to the gorge. But we are not disappointed, it becomes more challenging and as the drizzle begins, even more caution is required. Find the practical route. ..at the next opportunity, turn right ...was a bit hasty, but we get safely up the stones of the rain drain. After that we walk along a somewhat boring forest path, but we are immediately compensated with the Fuchsklinge and the wonderful path along the Tälesbach. We continue to hike downhill on narrow paths to the destination...and only meet 4 mountain bikers in total.
The hike connects two beautiful gorges, which are very pleasant, especially in warm summer temperatures. The connecting paths are mostly in the shady forest. In Hirsau, the monastery ruins and the monastery café inspire. If you would like to play a round of mini golf afterwards, you will find what you are looking for in the Kurpark in Bad Liebenzell.
Very nice round, which I did not expect. I parked at P1 (sports field). The sign at the Wolfsschlucht 'Alpiner Steig' is not as funny as it sounds at first. The path through the gorge is good to walk in dry weather, but you have to use your hands from time to time! A detour to the monastery ruins is definitely worth it!
The Wolfsschlucht was beautiful, but there was very little water at the moment. The path towards Fuchsklinge is a little less spectacular and leads almost flat through the forest above Hirsau. The Tälesbachtal is wildly romantic, the Gasthof Fuchsklinge is currently not managed. The last kilometer to Hirsau is not so nice as you walk along a small but busy road. The paths are marked with a diamond. From Hirsau behind the monastery towards Wolfsschlucht, up towards Hirsau / Fuchsloch, only later towards Fuchsklinge (otherwise you will miss the valley with the stream) and then back on the road to Hirsau. The Wolfsschlucht is "alpine", which means that you sometimes have to climb small rocks. If that is too strenuous for you, you can also walk above a signposted detour. But I didn't find the way through the gorge that difficult.
beautiful tour from Hirsau Monastery along a stream through the Wolfsschlucht
