Trail Reviews

Altesdorf
March 24, 2026, Buechlberg-Huettenwanderweg-Erlaustausee-Steinbruchsee

On the approximately 12 km long hut hiking trail, impressive nature experiences awaited me. Predominantly forest and field paths, with small sections also asphalted. 3 snack huts for a short break and a magnificent view of the surroundings were on the route. The first is the "Hütte am Weinberg", located directly by the idyllic natural cemetery with a park-like character and a great view. From there, you hike on through small villages to the Erlaustauseen lakes with an impressive fish ladder. The "Fischerhütte" is also located there, where you can enjoy the peace and quiet in lush nature by the water during your break. Probably the most beautiful part of this tour was along the shore path of the reservoir and the Erlau. A dream of a hiking trail. The last super highlight was the observation tower, which however I only admired from below today. I already enjoyed the view from the top yesterday. Afterwards, the path runs above the quarry lake past the "Fernblickhütte" with a beautiful view. An impressive tour with fantastic panoramas and pure tranquility. The captions for the pictures will follow later.

The Büchlberger Hüttenweg is a themed trail in the community of Büchlberg. It starts at the community's outdoor pool, where you can also park for free. From there it also went uphill to the observation tower (see picture gallery). Sometimes up - sometimes down it went to the Erlau, or its reservoir. At the reservoir itself we were accompanied by many dragonflies, butterflies and "jumping" fish snapping at insects. After the Kittl mill we had to climb another steep climb up to the plateau. About this it went past harvest-ready grain fields continue towards Büchlberg back to the starting point. On the Hüttenweg we also touched on many of the numerous smaller themed trails such as fish circuit, insect circuit and hoofed animal circuit and what else there is 😉😎. The Hüttenweg offered the possibility of sunny and shady sections and there was always a gentle breeze on the heights...🌬The name "Hüttenweg" refers to the fact that there are some shelters along the entire route where you can seek shelter in bad weather etc .
