Yesterday, we set off again to take advantage of the good weather before the forecast rain. The destination was the border area between Winterberg's Sauerland region and the Siegen-Wittgenstein district. The tour started at the Albrechtsplatz hiking car park (free of charge). From there, we followed the G9 trail marker – first along the border path to the Hoheleyer Hütte. There, we stopped for a quick break to fortify ourselves for the rest of the tour. 😉 Then the trail continued along the edge of Hoheleye, past the Großer Saukopf, heading south to Girkhausen – essentially the turning point of the tour. Along the way, we passed several meadows with Highland cattle, which are bred up here. From Girkhausen, we headed north again, mostly on well-maintained forest paths – mud-free and pleasant to walk. The route offered several forest sections, but also frequent views of the surrounding area. Overall, a fairly quiet and pleasant tour – perfect for a beautiful spring Saturday. 🌞
After enjoying the sunshine from the office the last few days and only being able to walk Milla in the dark, I took the opportunity today to go for a hike in daylight. It was quite overcast, but at least it was bright 😉 Along the way, I saw a group of mouflon, but they surprised me so much that I didn't get a chance to take a picture. Unfortunately, they disappeared again quickly. What a shame, I'd never seen any in the wild before 😍 I also treated myself to a delicious piece of cake at the Hoheleyer Hut 🍰
