What an adventure!!! 19% Ascent on beautiful mountain hiking trails! There was already some snow. Nice! We thought to go to the Berglisee, because that seemed very beautiful to us. Unfortunately ... because of the snow that was still there, we couldn't walk the way up to the lake: not even with our good hiking material. The path was untraceable and we saw footsteps in the snow that soon stopped. Probably these people had the same idea. Then to the Rauhkopf. On the way, but again unfortunately: the paths were still too snowy. Sometimes we stood in it up to our thighs. Decided (after a hearty lunch) to walk back to the point where the climb to the Berglisee starts. From there down to Mathon, on the shortened road. What a descent! Steep downhill over a very tough path but oh that was cool!!! This was a huge adventure. We now know that walking at this altitude in mid-May is not yet convenient!
At the end of our Paznaun holiday we went on a short hike to the Berglisee. What can I say... A beautiful mountain lake that is definitely recommended!
Definitely a must when the weather is nice. Wonderful little mountain lake with lots of seating options. Insider tip from locals. 👍 👍 👍
The Berglisee in Tyrol is an insider tip. At least that's what we thought, but word of this small lake has gotten around to hikers. The ascent extremely exhausting, led us through the forest. But it's worth it. At some point, however, there were too many people at the top, so we made the descent to the Alm
Today with both "groups" to the idyllic Berglisee (2115m) Right at the bus stop it goes through the forest evenly but steadily uphill to the Innerbergli and then in a few minutes to the lake. Beautiful, great panorama. From there descent through ancient stone pine and larch forest to the Lareintalalm (1860m) in the uninhabited valley of the same name. In just over an hour, you descend back to the hamlet of Mathon, where you can get back on the bus at the animal enclosure. Approx. 13km, approx. 740m altitude difference
