Hiking
If you’re looking for a great hike in the mountains with only a little elevation gain, the Chester Lake Trail is the one. Without any previous experience, you can reach glorious alpine terrain safely regardless of physical fitness.
From the car park, the trail climbs gradually up a forested slope. Before you reach the plateau, matters get a little steeper before the forest thins out and beautiful alpine meadows await. It’s a glorious section that reveals different facets at different times in the year. You’ll venture on towards the over 3,000-metre (9,800 ft) Chester Mountain and soon reach the lake.
This is a superb place to rest, have a snack and take in the scenery, or even enjoy a wild swim if it's not too cold. The lake is popular with anglers and there are several trout species that are easy to catch. A small path leads around the lake and this Tour takes you a little further up the mountain, to the Elephant Rocks, a great photo opportunity.
Are you interested in stories from the region, details about its flora and flora and the culture of its indigenous population? You can enjoy this Tour with a guide from the Blood tribe. Find more information here: https://buffalostonewoman.ca/
