In the most beautiful sunshine we went up to the Teufelsmühle. From the top you had a great view of the Rhine Valley.☀️😁
This tour is especially for anyone who is in rehab in Bad Herrenalb and thinks they have not being challenged enough :-) You will certainly feel different about that after this 🤣
Went for a lap in the northern Black Forest with friends. Our tour started in Bad Herrenalb and went first to the Teufelskammerfelsen, then to the observatory via the valley meadow back to Bad Herrenalb. It is a very nice tour but also includes a few meters of altitude. At the end we were still in the monastery barn what food. A tip: if you plan to eat something there, it is best to reserve a table before the start of the tour. The restaurant is well frequented.
We started our hike in the spa town of Bad Herrenalb. There are many restaurants where you can eat after the tour, but there is a charge for parking even at weekends. First it went steadily uphill to the 👹 devil's hole. It's either misplaced in Komoot, or overgrown...at least we didn't find it... the Teufelskammerfelsen was great for this and the view from the Teufelsmühle is terrific. We then went back to Bad Herrenalb, almost all downhill, on beautiful paths with some promising views. (A short coffee break ☕️at the Hahnenfalz hut had to be)
Sports university girls' hike with a stop at the Teufelsmühle and at the Christmas market in the monastery district of Bad Herrenalb. 👍⭐️🌲🔥🍷 Overnight stay at the Hotel Harzer: leafing retro romance. 💙 https://teufelsmuehle-schwarzwald.de/restaurant/
This route is an original circular hike recommended by the Black Forest Central/North Nature Park, extended by the path from and to the hotel. It normally starts at the town hall square. Under the name "Große Runde über die Teufelsmühle" (Great Tour via the Devil's Mill), it has been awarded the "Traumtour" (Dream Tour) quality trail seal. It is a challenging hike on natural paths. The ascent is very steep and stony. With a detour to the "Einstieg Großes Loch" - a natural forest gorge, the tour becomes an unforgettable hiking experience. After reaching the Teufelsmühle (Devil's Mill), there are breathtaking panoramic views over the entire Black Forest Nature Park. The tower located here was unfortunately not accessible this time and the very inviting hut was closed. It is only open on weekends outside the season. The way back - except for the first few kilometers on a stony, steep path - was relatively comfortable and relaxed, sometimes even on forest roads. A beautiful, impressive tour.
Today I was glad that I had the winter jacket with me. Up the mountain I got so warm and then I ran in a sweater, but then up on the Teufelsmühle in the wind at over 900m and when the drizzle set in, I was already glad that I was wearing something warm. The tour itself is sometimes quite steep and rocky (and muddy on the plateau), but is therefore well suited for training for a hiking holiday in unfamiliar terrain. After all, apart from in Bad Herrenalb, there are also two options for a stop on the way: in the Teufelsmühle after the hard climb and in the Talwiesenschänke after about 2/3 of the tour, before then just going downhill quickly.
The round officially starts at Rathausplatz and is badly signposted after the first signpost. But thanks to komoot, he was easy to find. Through the old monastery grounds, past the monastery barn, up onto the Albtalweg and then briefly back down into the Alptal, where the first brake attack spoiled the fun of the tour a bit. A bit after the tear came the violent but also beautiful climb along the fall line up to the big hole. We continued to the Teufelsmühle, where the tower and the beautiful mayor's view are a little off the beaten path. Then a short detour to the Teufelsfluger launch site, where we could watch paragliders up close. Then we went on the plateau in the direction of Langmarkskopf and then past the stone bench to the Hahnenfalzhütte, where we took a break. Then further down on rocky scree paths that required full attention and also good footwear. Past the Skiheim to the Hirschwinkel and then along the flank of the Wurstberg back to Bad Herrenalb.
