The Oberkircher Brennersteig takes you on a truly scenic and culinary journey of discovery. In the gentle hills of the Hesselbach valley, numerous distilleries invite you to sample their products - sometimes in the form of tiny huts.
It starts at the Hesselbach hiking car park. Between meadows, you follow the Brennersteig to the edge of the forest and turn onto the schnapps educational trail. Forest and meadow areas alternate again and again and you can enjoy fruity spirits at small distilleries and tasting boxes.
After you have already passed the highest point of the tour, you descend gently to the Geigerskopf tower. Wonderful views of the Rhine valley and the Vosges mountains opposite await you after you have climbed up the spiral staircase.
Through orchards and past farms, you return to the hiking car park, where you can stop off at one of the rustic inns.
