The 700th tour with Komoot!!! 🎉🍻 and the 13th year of Sauerlandradring 🤗🤩
Today, Rainer and Kalle went on a lovely ride through the Sauerland region. After the high temperatures of the past few days, it was very pleasant again today at around 23°C, and we enjoyed a sunny ride with fantastic views of the Bergisches Land landscape. 🎷🐛 81.02 new kilometers -- From Wanderer Parking (free) 59889 Eslohe (Sauerland), Kupferstraße 33 The bat tunnel has been open again since April 2nd; it remains closed during the winter.
9-euro ticket for the next bigger tour: first cycled 20 km to the Lethmathe train station in Iserlohn, from there in 40 minutes to Finnentrop. Bought a bicycle ticket for 3 euros thanks to the @ispho 🙋🏻♀️ tip Westfalen tariff. The SauerlandRadring absolutely inspired me. more than 85% super good asphalt, top railway routes with great views. Countless shelters for breaks and countless opportunities to stop off along the route. This is how cycling becomes a pleasure! Finally, again by train from Finnetrop to Lethmathe and then back up to Heedfeld. I will expand the tour (around Henneseeschleife or return to Plettenberg train station) and repeat it during the 9-euro ticket period
A really nice ride in great weather on mostly asphalted cycle paths. Part of the route goes over an old railway embankment and even through a tunnel. In Schmallenberg there is delicious cake in the Café König 😋.
Great !!! A very nice tour over old railway lines. With two long and in between always small crisp climbs. Very beautiful landscape. Lots of eye-catchers - whether in the front yard or in the great outdoors. Enough and nice beer garden on the way. If possible, you should cycle the tour clockwise with start/end in Finnentrop. This gives you the flat piece at the end. Good parking on Park&Ride incl. mobile home parking space. Shortly before the end there's a stretch along the road, but it's easy to drive with a bike path in places. Tour absolutely recommendable !!!
In beautiful weather we went to what is probably the most famous cycle path in the Sauerland, the SauerlandRadring. It mostly runs on former railway lines and connects the towns of Finnentrop, Eslohe, Schmallenberg and Lennestadt. At Finnentrop-Fehrenbracht we went through the Kückelheimer Tunnel, the bat tunnel, which provided a pleasant cooling down. It lives up to its name, because I actually saw bats flying there. The Lenne is reached via Eslohe and Schmallenberg - with a photo stop at the large picture frame. We went along the Lenne cycle path to Lennestadt and back to Finnentrop. The DampfLandLeuteMuseum in Eslohe is located directly on the railway line path. There is a steam engine collection, among other things. The highlight of the year is the Esloher Steam Days (September 28th and 29th, 2024). Then the museum steam locomotive makes its rounds on the grounds. Another detour (steep) led to the Sauerland pyramids in Galileo Park. This knowledge and puzzle park offers interesting exhibitions. Next to the pyramids are the pit hall and the headframe of the Sicilia mine. There are hardly any places to stop for refreshments along the railway line, but there are nice cafes in the villages. You could also add the 42 km long Hennesee loop, which leads to Meschede and the Ruhr Valley cycle path.
I used the early morning hours to enjoy the Sauerland Cycle Ring in all its beauty almost all by myself. So I could let nature work on me in all its splendor.
