Tip: If you follow the Red Dot/TK8/TK10 trail from the market square and skip the detour to Schlossberg, the tour is even suitable for strollers! Then simply return to Wehlen the same way.

Our tour starts at the parking lot in Wehlen on the banks of the Elbe. We take the paved road to the right and follow

We wanted to take advantage of the sunny weather today and set off on a tour of the Uttewalder Grund. The destination was the Felsentor. The route was pleasant to walk and the special light of the autumn day set the forest and rocks off beautifully. That was exactly what we had imagined today. Komoot recorded the route in an unusual way. 😅 There is a bend with a steep climb at Diebskeller, but we didn't walk it.

Today we made Saxon Switzerland unsafe. In the prospectus "Experience Saxon Switzerland barrier-free" a tour was selected that Thomas could manage without any problems, downloaded the GPX data and started navigating with Komoot. It worked great...we were in Uttenwalder Grund at Felsentor. Impressive what nature produces. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't the best, but true outdoor enthusiasts don't give up a few drops of rain...the route could also be covered by bike...

The Uttewalder Grund draws us to Saxon Switzerland today. The last visit there was many years ago. After the translation, the tour begins. The first photo is taken at the market. That's placed correctly, Komoot messed up almost everyone else. The Uttewalder Grund begins right on the outskirts and signposts indicate the hiking destinations, B 6. Soon rock walls are piling up next to the path, B 2. We don’t want to hike the entire Grund, it should only go as far as the Felsentor, B 4. That’s where it is the passage is very muddy, good that we want to turn around anyway. Shortly before the Felsentor we passed the Gasthaus Waldidylle. Now we stop there for a lunch break, B 3 and 5. Here in the very cool ground, sitting in the sunshine is actually pleasant. Before we get back to the village of Wehlen, we turn off to climb the castle hill. Much has changed up there since the last visit. A proper inscription informs about the history of the castle, even a model of the former castle is on display. There are several vantage points with benches and the old cellars of the castle are also open. The view of the town, the Elbe and part of the rock world is beautiful. The Elbe ferry on the B 13 is not exactly all that attractive. There is another reason why I photograph them. After a nice day of hiking with the service team, we wanted to cross over to the train station. In the middle of the stream, the engine suddenly stopped and, despite many attempts, could not be restarted. We drifted down, rather helplessly, towards a bend in the river. If only no pushed convoy appeared there now! We would be driven powerlessly to the. And such a large association could neither evade nor stop. Luckily we had some of our colleagues with us who knew about engines. They helped the perplexed ferryman. The many attempts at starting had also always moved the screw and generated small impulses. So we slowly got out of the fairway. Soon our people had the fuel supply running again and then the engine finally started again. I always think of this experience when I see this ferry. The engine doesn't stop today, we'll make it safely to the station.
