The tour around Schleswig-Holstein's largest lake starts from Plön, Bosau, Dersau or Ascheberg. The tour around the Great Plön Lake is our ultimate tour - it goes around the largest lake in the country for almost 40 km. The tour runs along beautiful shore paths, through pretty villages and wide fields and meadows. We recommend the towns of Plön, Bosau or Dersau as a stopover; here, wonderful terraces by the lake invite you to take a well-deserved break. If you are travelling with children or are surprised by a sudden change in the weather, you can also shorten the route by boarding the boat with your bikes between Plön and Bosau.
So, finally, vacation. Our destination is Holstein Switzerland. After an endless drive, we finally arrived in Ascheberg/Plön. We immediately hopped on our bikes and set off. We cycled around the large Plön Lake. As a Black Forest native, I have to say, it's also very beautiful here and ☝️there are actually hills 🤣. Then we checked in and immediately had a beer—unfortunately not a Tannenzäpfle (a kind of beer) 😭. It's okay to go without sometimes 🤷♀️. I'm excited to see what else we'll explore here.
Beautiful piece of earth, the Plöner See. You need 7-8 courses and a bit of stamina. Easy to manage with children from 10 years of age if there's an ice cream in between 😅! Greetings, Udo
A complete lap around Lake Plön. But you don't get to be by the water that often. Most of the time on side paths in the forest
Start and finish: Ferry house Niederkleveez am Dieksee. We couldn't have chosen better, because after the tour we could eat delicious here. (Booking a table in advance makes sense). Long tour around the Plöner See (unfortunately due to the approaching rainy weather without a city tour) and then past memories: former 5 lakes barracks in Plön. Absolutely little traffic and easy to ride with an e-bike. Highly recommended.
It was a nice lap, not overcrowded due to the weather and easy to drive. A bit of traffic on the main roads and too few opportunities to drive directly on the lake 🤔 ..... in Bosau there is a nice parking lot, still free 🚙 .... so, have fun 🚴🌼🌤️🌾🐄🌳🕸️👍🏻
Today we decided to do the Plönersee tour around the large Plöner See. A very beautiful route with many beautiful views of the lake. The small towns along the route are also very beautiful. Unfortunately, the route through the nature reserve was a little difficult to drive on as it has been raining a lot recently.

Why?
1. You can't see the lake at all for most sections of the route because the path is too far away from it, through the forest or residential area.
2. Very long sections run over coarse/hard gravel (see path condition), which is quite bumpy
