Nice, small round to relax and enjoy: quiet, secluded valley 🐌 pure nature with birdsong and water splashing 🌼 beautiful views at the top and on the Plankenstein ⛰️ The tour suggestion is from @HINTERINDIEN_DE (tour no. 103): https://www.hinterindien.de/tour-nr-103-lochau-tal-plankenfels-plankenstein/
The first really nice day in many weeks of permanent gray invited us to go hiking today. From Plankenfels we went through the lonely, wild and romantic Lochautal up to the climatic health resort of Meuschnitz. From there continue to Plankenstein. The former fortress on the 481 m above sea level. NN high Plankenstein was an important post between the episcopal Bamberg and the Kulmbach-Bayreuth area. The hilltop castle has long since been destroyed, but the Plankenstein offers a fantastic view of the area. We hiked back to the starting point via the steep Plankenstein Trail.
Unfortunately there was no more sun today, but if the weather is nice, everyone can. This morning we baked a mixed rye bread and went hiking while the bread cooled down. From Plankenfels we went into the Lochautal, which is currently almost completely flooded at around 500 m, the beaver is probably at work. Waterproof shoes are a requirement. After the ascent to Meuschnitz we hiked to the Plankenstein castle stables and back to Plankenfels via the Plankenstein Trail. The subsequent snack with the fresh, juicy mixed rye bread was a pleasure. 🥰
We had dear guests today who would like a Swabian potato salad with side dishes, but they would. Swabian potato salad, with juicy meatballs from Zedersitzer country pig Hermine on onion sauce with Hörnle. Then some panna cotta with Bavarian cream and mango for the espresso. It was delicious for everyone. 🥰
