This route was planned by komoot.
Very varied circular hiking trail. For the most part, the path runs right along the edge of the forest. Many meters of the route also run over paved roads and dirt roads. You will be rewarded with great panoramic views. Highly recommended! :)
While the senior is chilling and relaxed in the garden and the better half is cutting videos (for his YouTube channel) I can use the time and go on a tour ❤️😍 It should be the Eggetal today...it is the only longitudinal valley in the Wiehengebirge.... The Eggetaler Panoramaweg lives up to its name The fantastic view accompanies you almost the entire way....but you can definitely accept the short asphalt parts in between Not recommended in sweltering heat because you are mostly on the edge of the forest or on dirt roads and sometimes you also go through the villages With the wind today the weather was perfect Sunny and not too hot due to the wind There are enough places to rest I really enjoyed the tour
Proven, but never run at 32 degrees 😄
The nearly 13km circular hike is marked with a black "E" on a yellow background and leads around the Eggetal, the only longitudinal valley in the Wiehen Hills. Mostly along the forest edge or quiet roads, you'll often enjoy wonderful views. Especially from the Wiehen Tower, on clear days, you can see as far as the Teutoburg Forest and the North German Plain. Highly recommended 😃👍
We walked the loop from the Schwarzer Brink car park, which is right on the path. Those following us should definitely look out for the "Eggetalweg" sign, which we missed once, and we also used an older Komoot path that was blocked by a storm with trees criss-crossing. There are signs for Weichstrecke, which we noticed too late. Otherwise, the circular path is beautiful.
The Eggetal Valley, with its districts of Börninghausen, Büscherheide, and Einighausen, is called the "Jewel of the Lübbecke Region." It is also the only longitudinal valley in the Wiehen Hills. If you climb the 29.5-meter-high Wiehen Tower (125 steps) from the viewing platform, you'll have an impressive view of the North German Plain. Yes, we would have...towards the end of our tour...but the rain had gotten a bit heavier, and the valleys were hazy... We skipped the climb up the tower on slippery wood "for nothing"... @Barbara Nachtigal🚴♀️📸🥾 planned our tour - we arrived in time for the WINDOW MUSIC - - the small highlight of the tour, we talked a lot, mastered the climbs properly, admired the last roses, and discovered a eucalyptus tree.... Barbara wasn't responsible for the "modestly damp weather." The short detour to the restored Limburg tower and the old court linden tree were lovely additions. Almost 500 meters from the Eggetal Panorama Trail runs the Wittekindsweg trail and the E11 long-distance hiking trail, which connects Poland with the Netherlands. My long-distance hiking heart always gets a "nudge" in that direction when I see such opportunities, so our conversations revolved around, among other things, the different forms of "being on the move," and Barbara's love of cycling was clearly a priority. But now we were out on foot in this slowly becoming colorful autumn. Our komoot-like walk together calls for a repeat – we're sure we'll find something to do.
A great route... great paths.... perfectly signposted.... but unfortunately the wrong tour for these temperatures 🥵☀️ And after the first kilometer I noticed that the water bottles are still in the car🙈 .... so everything starts again🤪 Conclusion: Dogs and humans are pretty much knocked out today😅
Without "New Mill". 😏 (see also https://www.komoot.de/tour/362267754 from @Teutoburger Wald Urlaubsregion )
