A dream of a hiking and climbing gorge, in the middle of the Luberon. How often have we been here and visited the small villages. So today, in autumn conditions, we were looking for a hiking tour with a few challenges: rain, constant water on the hiking trails, wading through a stream and a few meters of elevation. The Kneipp cure through the stream was very cold because the water was icy. Tingling feet included afterwards. Conclusion: the rain can go to hell and the hike is amazing. We set off from the same place again today. It's supposed to be only 29 degrees, but it's incredibly hot in the sun. ☀️ The first few kilometers are rather uneventful, on paved paths through beautiful scenery. That changes abruptly after the first village, where we enter the hiking trail to the gorge. The views are magnificent, there's shade, and once we reach the bottom, we're greeted by a lovely spot by the river with a waterfall. There we stop for a snack and enjoy the silence and the rippling water. 🥰 Suddenly, a snake swims toward our spot and lets us take a photo of itself, before swimming away again. 🐍🥰 We walk through an enchanted forest, along the river, through caves, and high rock faces. We head back uphill, past two small villages. We miss the shade and reach our RV, which is waiting for us, lonely and deserted, at this beautiful picnic spot. It was a wonderful hike that we thoroughly enjoyed. We're staying here for another night. Best regards, 🍀🙋♀️🙋♂️
