This route was planned by komoot.
This tour marks the end of my 2024 summer bike tour after 665 kilometers. After my bio-bike tours along the Danube, Elbe, Saale (Thuringia) or around the Müritz lake district, I am thrilled with my first e-bike tour. I question whether I would have managed the altitude difference, 920 meters at the top according to Komoot, with the bio-bike 😀. I got to know a great landscape away from the road and have many memories with me.
We wanted to start early today - some rain was forecast for midday. So we set off at 10 a.m. in Affoldern from the former sports field. From Wega and in the Bad Wildungen area (with a detour to an ice cream parlor) we followed the R4. Completely new territory for us. Unfortunately, all three restaurants in Kleinern were closed, so we had to use up our emergency rations. Then we continued through the beautiful Wesetal. There's sure to be something to eat in Rehbach or at the dam. From Gellershausen towards Bringhausen, the R4 goes up, up, up, and then back again ???? (That's right: down!!!) It started to rain in Gellershausen. Change of plan: took the shortest route to the car. We ignored Rehbach and the dam. We headed via Dornröschenshöh and Hemfurt along the equalization basin to the car. Unfortunately, the weather played tricks on us again. When we got to the car, the sun was shining again! Thanks!
