Hard road ride. Very good fitness required. Mostly well-paved surfaces and easy to ride. The starting point of the route is right next to a parking lot.

Längental Reservoir

Highlight • Lake

The lake is not really beautiful, at least compared to the Finstertal reservoir. Certainly a question of perspective, but there is a bit of construction sin here.

April 12, 2024, Auch im Kühtai wird's Frühling 🌞🌺🌸

Escaped the heat in the valley 😉. Although it was quite cool on the way down...🥶

The skiers ⛷️ are still clearly in the majority... I only encountered a few cyclists 🚴 - at least over the pass...

Coming from Kematen, on the Kühtai. Long ascent, which has it with some very steep passages, with well over 15%. Departure towards Haiming. Attention: Horses or cows can suddenly find themselves in a curve here

Nice tour, but the last climb from Telfs to Mittenwald can be torture if the heat and traffic are unpleasant.

Doing what I love most today and then prosecco, cake and presents 💃🥂🎂 It couldn't be better 😍

After a short appointment in the morning, after a second breakfast we set off from Zirl, first on the Inntal cycle path to Haiming, from where the long drive started over the Haiminger Berg and the Sattle to Ochsengarten. From there we continued along Kühtaistraße, past the Längental reservoir, first to the Dortmunder Hütte, and then to Kühtai. Back down the valley I wanted to turn right at Gries im Sellrain and go back up to Lüsens, but in the rush of speed I missed the turn-off 🤦‍♂️ so I turned around and fought my way back up 🤷‍♂️ was at least ~200 extra meters in altitude 🥵 After a break at the Alpengasthof Praxmar with a really delicious blueberry pancake 😋👌, we took the same route back to Gries im Sellrain and from there down into the valley with a small counter climb via Brandstatt to Unterperfuss. From there it was only a few meters back to the starting point in Zirl. And another really nice tour 🤩👌 But with a lot of altitude 🥵 that was really tough, especially the Heiminger Berg with 1000hm ↗️ and a constant 10-15%. That's a real feat on my gravel with only one chainring at the front 🥵 I'd just need a race for something like that 😉😀
