Why do I keep doing this to myself? During the climb I am constantly moaning and cursing. But the reward always makes me forget all the hardships. After the descent from the Pfannspitze, a cool swim in the Obstanser Lake.

Today we went through the Winkler valley along an old military road with numerous hairpin bends up to Obstanser Boden and the Prince Heinrich Chapel. Through the wide valley floor you come to the north-west flank of the Roßkopf. After many hairpin bends you reach the Obstanser Seehütte at an altitude of 2,304 m.

After yesterday's 1200 m ascent, we treated ourselves to a second today. It was "only" 900 meters in altitude, but we managed it up and down. We were rewarded with a super beautiful path, fantastic views and a measly 12 degrees on the foggy Obstanser hut. Well, and a thyme schnapps, which also tastes delicious.
