From the Eisenkappler hut you start through the forest on the initially somewhat steep path to the tree line. (In early summer you will find a true flower paradise there 😉) Follow the path and after a while you will pass a ruined ruin. From there it is not far to the 2139m high summit of the Hochobir. Once at the top you have a breathtaking view. (be sure to sit down and enjoy 😉). On the way back, the Eisenkappler Hut is a wonderful place to stop for a break.

Have done a tour of this kind for years, it's still possible. The weather didn't cooperate at first, everything was overcast. Later, when we were on the summit, it gradually cleared up and we had the most beautiful view of Rosenthal and the Julian Alps.

I started much too late at the Eisenkappler hut. After a quick ascent, I reached the summit in time for sunset and met my two buddies. The distant view was perfect, in the photos you can see Triglav, Dobratsch, Hohe Warte and even the Großglockner.
